So the land situation in Arizona continues to get even dumber by the day as Alex Meurelo needs to get a special use permit which he should have known to do months ago and yet didn’t do it. So I wanted to shoot on this whole thing just a bit.

I'm curious, what would be the "legal action"? To get money? To do this without a permit? Literally what action is he looking for?
I'm a Coyotes fan, I own that jersey. I'm just speechless at this point. It's beyond sad. Beyond anger. I've finally come to acceptance. PHNX is great btw. I hoped we got more years of them.
Another reason we need another team up in Canada . put one in Hamilton, Ontario ffs. that market would be booming. huge blue collar city + the horseshoe region. But Bettman keeps jamming teams into shitty US red states.
Honestly is anyone surprised? It's clear that they don't want him. I wouldn't want to work with him either.
PHNX Sports is a media source that legitimately covers Arizona sports teams both college and professional teams. Craig Morgan is a long time credentialed journalist with many connections in sports circles and because of this arena saga, countless business and political leaders. This is why I have kept telling you when citing information about what is going wrong with the Coyotes, he is the source. Leah Merrall is also credentialed media. She hosts the PHNX Hockey Podcast. Former Coyotes video coach Steve Peters is also a very valuable part of the show (you may have been seeing him covering the Finals for ESPN). OH, and he is a Minnesota guy in case you were wondering. They obviously covered exclusively the Coyotes and the AHL's Tucson Roadrunners. Now, it is hockey in Arizona and related topics. Last night's unplanned "emergency" podcast was a follow up show to get the latest information from that very sports market out there. They may not be a television or regional sports network, but they are legit. Not a random podcast.
I will add this, Larry…when Craig is fed up with all this bull****, then we know Alex Meruelo burned his final bridge. There are no excuses and nothing that can be defended by the gross incompetence from Meruelo. As I said to one of the commentors below, never did anyone think there could have been a worse Coyotes owner than Jerry Moyes until this clown acquired the team in 2019. Then lost said team 2 months ago.
Phoenix mayor Kate Gallego supports having an NHL team, but not in favor of tax abatements for a development that includes a sports facility. You are correct, she, the Phoenix City Council and the Arizona Land Department all were Meruelo's last path toward a solution. And him blaming THEM for his own misstep in not getting a Special Use Permit says everything about him. Need further proof, look at his equally incompetent and arrogant son Alex, Jr.
My advice to you if you want to keep tabs on this for now, Larry… follow Craig on Twitter. He is sharing some scathing responses right now from Phoenix city officials and employees that are reacting to Meruelo's threats of legal action. All because he didn't get a Special Use Permit. This will give you an accurate picture of what is happening, not from the national media. I wish you did a long time ago when making your previous videos and while Canadian media pushed narratives. But here, you will be shocked at what garbage Coyotes fans have put up with for so many years.
What would really help regain the trust of the fans, business leaders and political leaders in Arizona is hopefully Shane Doan can get involved in being part of a future investment group to buy the rights to the inactive franchise and solve the arena solution once and for all. Craig has stated there are interested parties that want to do this, but are not in a position to go public with it. Time will tell in the coming weeks and months.
