  1. The level of passion and dedication in this thread is palpable. It's clear that everyone here cares deeply about the topic at hand.💝

  2. I love Gio, however, his league min plus the extra 300k cap that was just annouced (up from the 87700000 originally announced or assumed) and thats an extra M in cap that would be better used elsewhere..no?
if Leafs had more money to work with I would absolutely bring him back as a 8th or 9th Dman..he has the kind of character you want around.

  3. this is one of the reasons why this organization is designed or structured not to win the stanley cup., we keep accommodating and tolerating these players instead for what is best for the good of the team. props to zach hyman another former leaf who is on the verge of winning a stanley cup. the good old oilers in the gretzky era and now back in the hunt we cant even get there since 1967 this leaf team and organization is becoming a joke. as a leaf fan since 18 years of age and now 57 and paying tons my hard earned money for tickets it would be nice to see one before i croke

  4. Sure what the hell run the whole f..n circus back…since it all had such huge impact on the leafs getting so deep into the playoffs…..lol…..no one so have a shred of respect for this gong show of a franchise anymore…..no wonder the leafs are the butt end of jokes throughout the league

  5. If you look up UFA list Hainsey is still there why don't we sign him too!
Even Hutchinson the goalie is still around lets bring him back too!
    What about Marancin?

  6. If he's willing to sign for league minimum with the understanding that he'll be the 7th D I don't see why not.

  7. I would take Gio in Montreal as 7th d man in a heart beat. His work ethic and wisdom would be so valuable for our 4 young d men

  8. At minimum (or even slightly over), he'd be good as 7th or 8th. If he can pop between leagues it'd be great for the Leafs. Now, what would be GREAT is if there was a salary cap rule for players where they DON'T 'count' against the cap if they play less than a certain number of games with a turn toward coaching. IE, basically split the salary between management and playing…

  9. They put too much into selfish players, they get rid of players that have heart to win the cup. Hyman is a star in Edmonton. With the leafs track, it will be another 20-25 years before they win. That is cleaning up this mess, starting over.

  10. If there was a 41 year old defensemen currently playing in the Stanley Cup Final, I'd say sign him. However, there isn't.
