On today’s edition of the Locked on FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Alex Donno(@AlexDonno) from the Florida Panthers Radio Network and the Host of Locked On Canes (Miami, FL) to breakdown the Panthers 5-1 loss at the hands of the Edmonton Oilers from Rogers place in Alberta. It was the same old song and dance as Edmonton used their speed to throw the Panthers off. Florida fell behind once again by multiple goals, but also responded less than 30 seconds after Edmonton extended the lead. This time, the Oilers challenged a goal by Aleksander Barkov that found Sam Reinhart’s skate just past the blue line that led to a goal being disallowed, which swung the momentum even more for Edmonton, as the Panthers had two shots through 20 minutes, and did not get a shot on net from a forward until more than halfway through the second period. The Panthers have now lost three straight after going up 3-0 in the Stanley Cup Final and Edmonton has also stopped Florida’s opportunities off the rush, while their penalty kill was once again outstanding. The two give their three duds of the game, when they thought the game was lost. Now there’s a game 7 at home, winner take all. How do the Panthers recover from losing the last three? One final point, and then I’ll bow out. Rooting for your team is noble. But denigrating another team is mean spirited and petty. You can say it’s retribution for comments made against your team, but two wrongs don’t make a right and you are accountable for your own actions. All the players involved on both teams are trying their best. Don’t be a hater!
I hate to say it but the oilers are going to win. The cats are getting way out played. It's over for the cats.
The Pathers have to slow the Oilers down. They have exceptional speed, skill and depth. Pathers have to get physical. I think the Oilers also have a better coaching staff.
Edmonton has been doing speed drills in practices (starting after the game 3 loss), and this has sped up their team tremendously
Panthers have a chance if they start stolie bob looks old and tired and looks scared .I feel sorry for pomo he will will either get fired or quit and hide in a cave he has been terribly outcoached he can't make adjustments and can't motivate his team.he should of started stolie in game 5 at home he easily stops 3 goals that bob gave up.the oilers have figured out bob he can't move side to side and gets beat high that chase the puck in the corner is not working anymore .montour is a ghost and won't be resigned next year ekblad also has lost his offensive he won't be resigned either

You can't make mistakes when playing the Oilers. They will sting you. They have really unnerved the Pathers. They have a big psychological advantage.
If I was a Panther coach, I would find a way to get physical and get the Oilers off their game. However, the Oilers are well coached and disciplined.

Holy crap! Blaming Bob for any of this is beyond unbelievable. The whole damn team has let him down. This series would have been over if not for him. Tkachuk has been an absolute ghost in this series. Verhaeghe has been a colossal disaster on the ice. Reinhart has made no case for bringing him back. Our special teams have been an embarrassment. Our defensemen have been outplayed, and Montour can't be gone soon enough. The defense, as a whole, from the dmen to the forwards, has been a complete shyteshow. Bob is last on the list of guys I can blame for the situation we find ourselves in now. Yes, it would be great for Bob to completely carry us through the Finals and put on the greatest goalie performance in the history of the game. Because thats exactly what he was doing. Try putting blame on the true no-shows. We can also stop shooting meatballs at Skinner that any Beer league goalie can stop. One more game and we'll be able to hyper scrutinize this series till the end of time. #GOCATSGO
Oilers finished regular season 3 wins less than Panthers . panthers were only 5 th overall Oilers 9 th . Oilers spotted the league a 20 point head start.. Oilers better defense , better offense , better goaltending smarter coaching during playoffs .. just how i think ..
The Panthers have recached the Stanley Cup finals, two years in a row, that takes a toll on any team. Lost's of games, and lots of time on the ice, travel and pressure. Not too many teams get to the finals back-to-back, let alone go into 7 games. They are probably very tired, the mistakes seem to show it, lapses, and just exhaustion.
Canucks fan here. I honestly thought the Canucks could go all the way and beat Oilers but that didn't happen. Now the Oil has made me a believer. Panthers are choking and slipped on the Oil and can't get back up. Oilers will win the cup in game 7.
Sorry for panthers fans but your elite players are not on the same levels as oilers one. I mean look at Evan bouchard , hyman and mcdavid stats in these playoffs . Theres insane!
A quick comment about the offside challenge: Knoblauch called a timeout to better look at the play before making the challenge. While it's true the the Oilers were statistically safe if the challenge failed, Knoblauch did take a risk, if only by calling his timeout early.
All will be forgotten and a lot of people will have a good laugh(panther fans/players/media) about it as long as panthers win, close game or not. Doesn’t matter how they do it but man they haven’t done themselves any favours. Losing puck battles, bad turnovers/defensive breakdowns. A power play that has been ass. Bob not being anywhere near good enough. Their best players not playing their best game to game. Talk about one tense ass team. They gotta just forget all this and focus on game 7. Keep it simple, play smart and clean hockey. Also would help if they could generate more chances and shots lol. They need to score that first goal to feel good about themselves and go from there. Hope for the panthers sake they play a great game and win cuz lemme tell u if they lose they’ll never get live that down and be the brunt of all jokes for years. It’s a bad thing to have on your hockey resume and be known as “chokers” Hope they find a way to win cause they’re a good team with a lot of likeable guys.

I’ve been an Islanders fan since 1975. I remember that year the Isles went down 3-0 twice. They came back and beat the Penguins but lost game 7 to the Flyers who went on to win the Cup. This has been an entertaining series and I am looking forward to game 7. Hoping that the Panthers will find a way to win. (I respect the Oilers but given my allegiance I can’t bring myself to root for them). Good luck Cats.
