I think it’s a pretty easy challenge honestly. Not only was it the right call, but also, Florida PP gives Oilers more scoring chances than they create themselves so I wouldn’t have any concern about the bench minor if it fails. We’d probably have just scored another shorty.
Maurice is a dumbass.
They challenged the offside because the Panthers' PP has been worse than the Oilers all series. They had confidence that they could score another short-handed goal regardless of the momentum the Cats would have gotten from the goal because of home ice.

Messier says it but understates it. Edmonton has cracked Florida's operating system, their forecheck. Edmonton is clearing the puck where every other team couldnt get it out of their own end, leading to Fla goal. Clearing it is leading to breakaway goals for faster Edmonton.
