No. I like Savoie more than McGroarty. Change him with one of our other 1st round prospects and I’m game, as long as Ehlers is going to sign. If we don’t know then we can’t trade for him.

The comparable for Rutger’s value is the Cutter trade of a 2nd + an injury prone DY+3.5 Drysdale.
The typical pending UFA winger return is a late 1st + prospect. Also giving an extension to a 29 year old winger would just be Okposo all over again.
That’s just a big overpay on Buffalo’s part based on recent comparables.

Why? Neither team would want that. Winnipeg is not a team looking for futures, so this package would not be appealing to them. And it’s way too many similar roster players for Buffalo, as McGroarty would need a roster spot to sign. Spending the 11th, a 3rd, Krebs and Savoie for 3 middle 6 left shot wingers, 2 of them with expiring contracts and one prospect, sounds like awful value long term as well.
