  1. Guhle…Have the Habs learned ANYTHING from McDonaugh and Sergechev No thanks BTW whats so great about Necas No thank you

  2. I think matheson is getting moved this off season, his value is higher than it will ever be and we have a defensive log jam. Somones getting moved and its the oldest guy. Maybe not for Necas because carolina wants more than just Mathesen but probably for a decent prosecpect.

  3. If MTL really wants Necas, they should trade either one period. You can’t keep all these guys. Like mentioned, you can always draft a top four defenceman. If Necas is valued way better than the upcoming draft forwards, there is no question MTL should do this trade.

  4. For the last 6 month I call Matheson for Necas… the lower cost of Matheson for what he give you fit so much with Tom Dundon philosophy. That’s why I believe a one for one deal would work.

  5. Pass on necas big time pass , he will want to much money coming off a down year and the team loses all leverage if you just traded for him . Matheson had more points then necas last season . Montreal can look elsewhere for help in the top 6 . Newhook looked good on that second line ,dach needs to stay healthy , and no need to force roy into the top 6 , montreal has to get 1 maybe 2, 2nd line players ,I don't think hughes trades nor necas , the value isn't there. My call is Laine, short term commitment and can get him for a decent price .

  6. Keep Buuim, Guhli, Reinbacher, Hutson, amazing core right there, the Jackeye can't spell and strubble… Then with time you chance the bottom 2 for newer younger players, solid D man, thst's how you're gona wiin Cups with a very good top 6 of course.

  7. Matheson is the answer we can find a vet in free agency to help in leadership role . Matheson is not part of the finish product were building

  8. So let’s say Guhke does turn into a Weber esk player Montreal loses this trade handily . As a rebuilding team you do not trade projected top 4 studs who play amazing D with very good offensive instincts for a middle 6 winger with 1 ok season under his belt on a power house team . Silly imo if I was trading Guhke it would be for a bonafide star , yes they will need to sweeten it but that is why they’ve collected picks

  9. They will still have 7 Left D after the trade. Matheson/Guhle, Hutson, Xhekaj, Harris, Struble, and prospects Engstrom, Trudeau. So they can still pick a Forward at 5th. But all of a sudden the Right side D become stronger than the left with "studs" Reinbacher and Mailloux

  10. Stop mtl dont draft a left d they dont need another one they need RW and RD and mattheson is going to be trade for New jersey for their 10th pick and i prefer Patrick laine beacause only 2 year left but if we sign necas and he choke like anderson we are stuck with him for 7 years at 7 millions is worst than anderson

  11. Guhle has far more worth than a dime a dozen forward like Necas think playoffs and a shut down 4 strong D-man like we ran with in 2021

  12. Trade Matheson now!!!! This is another Josh Anderson situation waiting to happen. Matheson is overperforming right now and the Habs will regret it if they dont trade him while the value is high, just like they regret not trading Josh when they got offered a 1st round pick for him. Even when overperforming he's an absolute defensive liability and a power play marchant. Matheson got 62 pts of which 28 pts come from the powerplay and he's got the worst +/- with -24 alongside Gallagher. Most people judge him off the highlight reels so they have an heavily skewed opinion of him but I wish there was a highlight reel of his defensive blunders so that Habs fans can finally see the light. His only redeeming feature is his TOI and his veteran presence but we have loads of young defs that need NHL TOI and I prefer keeping Savard as a Veteran teacher. Most kids these days joining the NHL know how to score, what they need to be taught is how to defend at elite level and how to play during playoff times. Savard and the coaching staff will teach them that way better than Matheson could. Not to mention Hutson is probably gonna be better than him on his year 2 if not year 1 in the NHL.

  13. I love how much Habs fans overrate Ghule. He’s a 4 or 5 defenceman. He’s easily replicable and if the Canes give up Necas for him they would be crazy. The Habs have nothing to give them worth Necas value.
