  1. First, I'm glad Becks is getting a shot, as it was clear it wasn't happening here. I'm also glad he didn't go to someone in our conference/division to haunt us.

  2. Good trade for both players. For the Wild to get the Devil's leading AHL goal scorer is well worth this trade. He could be an immediate 4th liner.

  3. I may be proven wrong but the guys I talk with are saying Iowa Wild is being tossed around as being called a Dead End with up and comers. So that being said, I hope this isn't just an optics move to try to change the image that Iowa Wild is looking like a Dead End Destination. When you bury prospects and play lazy, no trade, money's in the bank contract lackies…(Freddy Guadreau, Carcus Johansson, Jon Merrill, Goal-O-Cough-Sky), It looks like you are at a your end of the line…Iowa Wild (Watching Countryclub Passengers from the bench…and they don't get popcorn or a hot dog!)

BG is not believeable one bit saying roster spots are for the taking by young players because they throw them in spots that are non competitive roles and make it a no win for the prospects. I would be delighted to be wrong…

If Shaw won't take a two way, time to trade and slide a new crash test dummy in the 4th line. Vinny may hold the stick as if he shoots right but truth be told he doesn't shoot! Luccini never touches the puck so how's he going to shoot it? The metric of SOG Seth is one that says more to me than how "hard the guy works" two relevant things are in that mix to get SOG: The guy gets in a position that the puck is on their stick and/or they get to a spot where the puck is in play to get a shot. Thus saying they know what to do when they don't have the puck. That suggests goal scoring IQ. That call, I really like Seth. You should be on the scouting staff!

  4. A change of scenery is probably what both GM’s were thinking. While I agree with you in Beckman not getting a fair shake, especially on line 2 or 3, maybe Guerin doesn’t see any room with Ohgren, Yulov, Heidt, Khusnutdinov + the other forwards in the pipeline coming up. Another spot that is potentially open, the three you mentioned plus Freddy if he doesn’t come out of the gate looking like the Freddy of 22-23. Just glad this didn’t become another McBain…

  5. I have to give Wild management credit in that I can’t recall a player traded in the last few years that went on to really excel. The one exception might be Kevin Fiala. Regular season Kevin anyway and I’m happy the way that trade looks now. That being said I hope Adam B goes on and keeps improving. It sure would be nice if GC can take a step this year for us as well.

  6. Devils fan here. Sounds like both guys are pretty much in the same boat. Graeme Clarke was the last guy cut in preseason two years ago and seemed to get overlooked in call ups the last two seasons. Even tho he was doing really well at the AHL level. A lot of Devils fans feel he was never given a chance and seemingly just not in the plans. He was basically the teams best forward prospect. Not at the NHL level.

  7. 1. The Wild don't give their youth a fair shot. Trying to force Top 6 guys to shine playing with Dump Trucks on the 4th line is not "a shot". 2. The Wild organization sucks at developing players. In their history, name THREE players that were in Iowa for 2 years that developed into the prospect we were told about. The fact is, that number is ZERO. In the HISTORY of the team. Bomber needs to be fired and then the org needs to change it's development strategy both in Iowa and when they get a chance up here. Sadly that won't happen until Billy gets shit canned, which can't happen soon enough.

  8. Playing defense doesn't win games unless you score more goals than you give up. Sounds so simple but having and developing players who have scoring abilities and getting that potential unlocked at the NHL level is what this game of winners is all about. If that isn't the primary goal of each team then that team is only going to be a minor league team trying to play at major league levels usually trading away those players that they didn't unlock their potential.
