New York Ranger defenseman Ryan Lindgren is a restricted free agent this summer and represents a key decision for the front office to make in determining the direction of the team going forward. While an undoubtedly quality player, the Rangers are at a point with minimal cap space going forward and may be better served by finding Adam Fox a better defensive partner. Is there a deal to be made between the Rangers and Lindgren or would they benefit from trying to move on from the Minnesota native?

Lindgren needs to go he’s not a good top pair D man at all and marrying him to fox is just hurting Fox’s play if he stays he needs to take a pay cut cuz 4 mil is too much for him and he needs to play on 3rd pair with Trouba this dumb idea that Fox needs lindgren has hurt the team because now there is way too much value on a guy like lindgren
Rangers should be shopping lindgren and kakko and chytil but chytils injury and injury history is gonna hurt any legit chances for a trade with him rangers should seriously consider buying chytil out im surprised it’s not being talked about more the savings and lack of huge cap penalty makes it a no brainer to me if I was drury im not taking my chances with all of these what if scenarios if rangers could get rid of kakko and chytils cap hits as well as trade lindgren for any asset it’s worth it cuz the cap space rangers would then have can really help change the team in a great way
Tremendously helpful, insightful and detailed. IMO, Fox Lindgren should not be a pairing. Both are too small on the defensive side, to be paired. This was exposed mightily by Canes and Cats. I would like to see you do the playoff stats. Miller is a nightmare waiting to happen, never able to fight for pucks, and he's more O minded than D. We don't have the guy to pair with Fox, unless a guy like Matt Robertson were to blossom (doubt it). I think they should let Lindy wak/trade. Can't pay him and Fox 13Mil between them.
