Game Recap: Penguins vs. Sabres (03.25.21) | Crosby’s 1,300th Point and Zohorna’s First Goal

There’s nothing like your very first game in the NHL, and Radim Zohorna’s first game wasn’t just memorable because he played it: Zohorna earned his first NHL goal (on his first shot, no less) to put the Penguins up 1-0 heading into the first intermission. Jared McCann added two goals to his totals in the 2nd and 3rd periods. The Sabres had thought that they scored to break Casey DeSmith’s shutout bid, but after a coach’s challenge, the play was ruled offside. Jake Guentzel finished things off with an empty-net tally. With assists on the final three Pittsburgh goals, Sidney Crosby recorded his 1,300th NHL point. Crosby is the 8th-fastest player to reach that milestone (1,017 GP) and the 12th player in NHL history to record 1,300 points with one team. The Penguins joined the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings as the only teams with two 1,300-point scorers (Mario Lemieux, 1,723). Casey DeSmith turned aside all 36 shots the Buffalo Sabres got on net.

  1. Good job, guys.
Plus that 1,300 point milestone for Crosby and what a welcome to the show for Zohorna.

Ristolainen's frustration is getting the better of him.

  2. Oswald Cobblepot screams AWK AWK AWK! He is so happy that 🐧 blanked buffalo sabres 4-0!

  3. It's unreal how Sid has changed his game, and still offensively one of the best in the league, also defensively he's top 5. He plays so smart. Let's hope he stays healthy or we could be in some trouble. 87 is the GOAT in my opinion.

  4. I must say, it was one of the most impressive games Sabres played this season. Considering it's the second game in two nights during a pandemic, and without their coach and best player. They showed tremendous character…..
    Go Buffalo!

  5. Welcome to the NHL Radim! Nice goal for the big man! Skates pretty good for being a 6'6" 220lb winger. Nice to see the Pens add some size to the line up. Just keep winning boys!! GO PENS!!

  6. NHL videos…bang-up job…as usual. Seriously, why bother? You're like a sad, rejected referee a year before retirement.
