Big borderline hit in a game between the New York Islanders and Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.
I've heard 2 seconds, I've also heard 1 second from Bob Mckenzie and lots of other analysts, there's really no set in stone and that was a pretty fair call, I've seen many hits that are not as late that are called. I do agree that he gets a lot of calls on reputation, but he built that reputation himself. He's a tough kid who plays with an edge and will at times go over that edge, like with some of the nastiness in the latest playoffs and his history of slewfoots.
I've seen him slew-foot someone before, but to be fair I don't usually watch Flyer games, so I have a small sample size to go off of, may have just been an isolated incident.

There is nothing in the rulebook that says you have two seconds to hit someone after they've lost possession.
