Who should the Calgary Flames select at 9th overall at the 2024 NHL Draft?

The Calgary Flames own the 9th overall pick at the 2024 NHL Draft. With very little scouting consensus – aside from a general sense that three players will be long gone when they select – Ryan dives into his preference list for the Flames’ selection at 9th overall.

  1. If Tij somehow makes it to 9 then it's a no brainer you select him. I don't believe he will be and to trade up for Tij the cost would be too much.. I really like Carter Yakemchuk if he's still there as well.. Both guys mentioned have Calgary connections and check the boxes on what Flames want for the future

  2. I have a feeling there will be a high pick or two in play this year, and there will still be a few surprises as to who goes where.

  3. You misssed Beckett Sennecke. Arguably has a higher upside than almost every forward you mentioned. Look for him to go top 5-10 in many scenarios
