The Isles will be doing their best to prove they are for real after last year’s surprise run.

  1. i always respect your opinion and you got me into hockey and it has become my second favorite sport but 2 things, martin zeeker and clutterbuck is the 4th line for the isles and also if they arent gonna finish higher than 3rd who jumps over them

  2. Lee Barzal eb
    Bailey Nelson Kun
    Beau dal cole uncle Leo
    MC^2

    Leddy Johnny
    Peleck pulock
    Toews field

  3. 2 seasons ago: The Islanders can score lots of goals but can they prevent them
Now: The Islanders can't score but they can definitely prevent them

  4. Ahem (clears voice) (taps on microphone) the islanders wont miss robin lehner (proceeds to sprint off the stage)

  5. There is no other league in the world where we don't know for certain where most teams are going to finish.
Only the Sens are surely not making it and even then they can surprise people and win a round or two.

  6. islanders had something to play for as did vegas did the year before-team chemistry these days means more than the true talent the teams have on paper-ask the blues/tampa about that…islanders may have upset that and take a downward turn this season…hopefully players not too comfortable with their new contracts…

  7. Hockey Guy makes a point that most of the media seems to miss: this team is coached by Trotz and therefore won't sink as much as people think.

  8. Also Johnny Boychuk is a beloved member of the Isles, and is playing like a top 4 defenseman, better than Nick Leddy in my opinion

  9. Still seeing a lot of calls to trade JHS. Shannon you donā€™t have him making the lineup at all. Iā€™m not saying heā€™s hasnā€™t been a problem child. I would like to see him have a full season at the NHL, this year and if he doesnā€™t perform as a mature person then let him go during free agency next year. Give him a make it or break it option. I was disappointed Eberle got resigned. I can only hope he plays the whole season the same way he did against Pittsburgh.

  10. Unlike many previous seasons I'm confident for the coming season I'm not gonna lie, but man indeed we need scorers ! I pray that Barzal steps up this season, he has that in him, he can score a lot if he works his shot

  11. Great job with the videos, Shannon. You do your homework and sure know your teams fairly well.
Good call on Toews. He was really impressive coming up last year and looking forward to seeing where he gets to by the end of this year.

  12. Isles will probably finish 2nd or 3rd in the division. Lehner being gone hurts, but I feel most goalies will thrive under Trotz's system.

  13. Still need more firepower up top, but if Eberle breaks out this season (my prediction), and some of the new guys can play at the NHL level, I say we can make an easy playoff run.

  14. This team is a top-6 scoring winger and a third-line center much like Frans Nielsen from another surprising season. Shannon is dead on. As long as they have Trotz behind the bench and that coaching staff (which got better by sending Gomez packing), the Isles will contend. Power play will be better. It just has to be.

  15. I don't trust Varlamov at this point. I just don't. This team is just fine on defense, and they've got interesting young guys up front, but if they can't get rock-solid goaltending, I can't see them back in the playoffs.

That's my whole thing with these guys. Good goaltending? solid 2 or 3 seed. Average? Wild card or bubble. Inconsistent? A return to the basement.

  16. New York Islanders I think will step back a bit with the loss of Robin Lenher. Still have pieces from the team last year and maintain a wild card.

  17. I'm using your videos to listen to as I set up my fantasy hockey spreadsheet and I love it. Can't believe I'm just finding your videos now, we think very alike and it's awesome to listen to!
