Deserved, probably, was his heart ever in it as a Habs captain… no. I don’t care about how the guys felt in the room… Weber never embraced being a Hab and the honour of being the captain. Never liked him and wish we had kept PK. This is a big nothingburger for me.

Honestly…… Fuck Weber. Dude abandoned the team and the fanbase once we had nothing left to offer him, didn’t say a word to anyone and left without a care. Terrible showing from someone who was supposed to be the leader. The team was in shambles after our cup run and yet we couldn’t depend on the one guy we should’ve been able to keep everyone’s head level.
If he wasn’t a vital part of the cup run, I would’ve rather keep Subban around just for how much he loved the city and gave back to it. He was showing how a true leader should step up.

Did some research and “Must have not played in a professional or international hockey game* during any of the three (3) playing seasons prior to his or her election.” Apparently not, don’t need to be officially retired and only not have played for 3 years
