Sinner, Paul, Pegula shine in Wimbledon warm-ups but Murray + Djokovic in injury race against time

We have a podcast exclusive interview with Emma Raducanu from her press conference in Eastbourne where she tells the media she loves tennis again, Taylor Fritz press conference on Novak Djokovic’s injury and Madison Keys on the tricky decision to skip the Olympics and Team USA.

It’s also been a good week for Americans on tour with Tommy Paul becoming the new US men’s number 1 with victory at Queen’s and Jessica Pegula winning her first grass court title in Berlin, saving match points along the way. Jannik Sinner also takes home the Halle title, cementing his new world number 1 status, whilst Yulia Putintseva surprises even herself with a great week on the grass of Birmingham, putting to an end a resurgent week from an Ajla Tomljanovic on the comeback.

The trio also discuss the latest on the status of Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic with one week to go before the start of The Championships, and also reflect on the USTA’s Olympic team selection which has caused some controversy over the exclusion of top 10 doubles player Nicole Melichar.

With one week to go until Wimbledon, Chris is in Eastbourne to cover the action from the sunshine capital of England, and Joel also brings us his final reflections from his week at the Cinch Championships in London.

  1. I'm from Poland, even in our country everyone admits that Hubi unfortunately has a weak head in moments of pressure… xd

  2. The rule is simple, in the Olympics there is no pay and no points. Personally, I don't like the attitude of professional athletes – they give up like that. Then it's no wonder that players like Keys play no consistently the season, with such an approach. It pains me to say this because I like Keys' personality and the person she is off the court. Unfortunately, this is not the only such case… PS. As for the conference question for Keys, you did a great job getting out of an awkward situation. xD
