The best Cup Finals I’ve seen in years. It’s not my favorite (my favorite is 2009) but this series was absolutely mania. This series will go down in history as one of the best.

Also what's missed here in the first goal is that the Oilers had a failed clear right before the powerplay ended that kept possession till the fateful moment. Florida cleaned up that aspect of the game big time.

Almost every Stanley Cup Finals a Canadian team has been a part of since the Canadiens won the Cup in 1993 has gone to 7 games only for the Canadian team to never lead in the deciding game and fall short: the Canucks in 1994 and 2011, the Flames in 2004, and the Oilers in 2006 and 2024. The only two Finals in this time frame to involve a Canadian team and not go 7 games were 2007 (the Senators lost in 5) and 2021 (the Canadiens lost in 5).

Imagine how us bruins fans and Toronto fans feel. Nothing to be ashamed of. They showed some heart and soul and dug in. I never thought they’d do it but they controlled Florida for three straight games. The 7th game is a toss up.
