I love reading Elliot Friedman's 32 Thoughts. And it is easy to see when it's opinion vs. what he's being told. He's literally one of the only reporters I trust. There is a reason he does get inside info before most reporters. The actual clubs and players trust him. I don't know why there is slander for Friedman here. Maybe it's because it's an American channel? I dont know 🤷🏼
Could you imagine announcing the winner of the Calder after the game was a player that didn't even make it to the Finals? Would people be booing or laughing? Like all the other individual awards, they should just announce and award it after the respective regular or playoff seasons are over, and not on the ice. The only things that should be given out on the ice are the Conference and Stanley Cup trophy's. Those are factual indisputable things, not concocted from opinion and vote based.
I'm biased as hell, but Sid is the best. He always comes up big when it mattered most. Mario was the same way.
McDavid might be the most skilled player I've ever seen but he doesn't quite have that trait.
