but I already bought my McLellan jersey

Woodcroft is preferable to me over McLellan but I’d be fine with either. I just want competence and stability for our young guys after these last 3 years. It’s a low bar over here

He’s competent and has a good resume.

    At this point, that’s a W.

Kevin Weekes is about as much news as fire is wet

If you’re wondering about his cup ring, he was the video coach for Detroit in 2008

  6. If it comes down to McLellan or Woodcroft I hope to god it’s not Woodcroft

  7. After the babcock drama and the reactionary hire. I’m just happy we are going for something steady and not extreme. Maybe the new guy has a more inside the box vision the jarmo did.

Wrong answer. We gotta get Babs back. We gotta…

  9. Blech.

Nelson, Evason, and McLellan are my hopes in that order

I mean, Edmonton had literally one of the worst records in the league with Woodcroft this season before he was fired. Turns out that very same team, with him gone, was one game away from being champions.

He has experience, but it ain’t a ton. I much prefer McLellan.

For what it’s worth, before this came out Friedman was on NHL radio and said that he thinks McClellan could be the guy and thinks the Buccigross “scoop” could be real.

I would be fine with this personally. He’s young, smart, and I like his coaching philosophy. He has experience but isn’t necessarily a retread. I don’t think Edmonton’s struggles in the beginning of the year had much to do with him
