I think based on the fact that other Dmen are going to get paid more then we’re used to, and that many teams in FA would’ve paid more than 4.9 for demelo, that means this isn’t an overpay. Besides we had no choice but to pay him considering our RHD situation and how he plays with morrisey
I think it's a slight overpay now, but will age well by the term. Also, if DeMelo does regress, the amount of the contract will be good for a trade. GO JETS GO!
It's not a bad contract tbh, like u said in the video, players are going to get paid more with the changes in the market.
Hopefully we trade someone like mcgroartys or ehlers to get another Defenseman
