[Applause] welcome to HW hockey what’s up you Beauties welcome back to the HW hockey YouTube channel your go-to source for all the latest NHL news and rumors I’m Jim micone and today we’ve got some exciting trade Buzz to discuss according to Insider Pierre LeBron the Buffalo SA just might be the Front Runners in the race to acquire Marty niches from the Carolina Hurricanes let’s dive into it so earlier tonight uh hockey Patrol on Twitter reported this sources say that there is one unknown team in particular that is pretty close with Carolina on framework of a deal uh and that if that trade goes through it would involve a first round pick Friday night Pierre LeBron was the source on the potential Marty n’s trade and I believe minutes later LeBron followed up this one was from Mark shag Pierre LeBron believes that the team was jumped to the front of the line on Martin and niches and may have a first round pick on the table and a potential deal the Buffalo sabes how about that the Sabers getting a little busy here um so uh as I mentioned Pierre LeBron reported that the team leading the charge is the Buffalo Sabers they’re offering a first round pick to make it happen but why is this such a big deal let’s break it down first let’s talk Marty niches the 24-year-old Czech Ford has been a standout for the Hurricanes he’s got incredible speed playmaking ability and a knack for finding the back of the net NES has quickly become one of the most promising young players in the league last season he notched 70 points including 28 goals and 42 assists uh so I’m sorry that was from a couple seasons ago now why are the Sabers so eager to bring niches to Buffalo the sabes have been rebuilding for a couple years they’ve got a a good core of young Talent including guys like Ras stalen Dylan cousins Tage Thompson all forwards adding niches to the mix could be the missing piece they need to take their game to the next level there that I mean that would be quite an impressive uh forward group and to me it almost feels like they’re maybe they’re looking to replace a guy like Sam Reinhardt up there um nich has a he’s a versatile player which means he can play both Center and Wing but I believe he’s been uh primarily used on the wing in Carolina uh but this should give the Savers plenty of options to mix in uh and mix in match their lines so I think it’s a move that could pay off big time it’s nice to see the sabes for once in in you know in talks like this because the whole time with this martinich stuff I don’t think the Sabers have been one of the teams um they’ve been connected with the Flyers a lot Joel far’s names come up which now to me I mean you have to believe the farab rumors a little bit if you’re a Flyers fan Nas’s left side I think he’s a tier above farab so hey let’s let’s see what happens with this uh but let’s not forget Sabers are going to give up a first round pick for n so they’re they’re out there they’re looking to make a splash first round pick would be a significant asset especially considering the depth of talent in the upcoming draft so for a player like niches it’s it’s sort of a calculated risk uh risk obviously this would accelerate things for Buffalo has been I think they’re the longest 10year team in the in the NHL right now for for making the playoffs it’s been at least over a decade um so let’s talk about the Sabers fan base so they’ve been through a lot as we kind of just touched on so this trade would uh I I think it would create some Buzz I mean I would want to hear from the the Sabers fans obviously like I don’t know does a trade for Marty niches do anything to you guys here um yeah we do have some questions in the comments we’ll get to those in a second um but but I want to hear from Sabers fans especially and Carolina fans if you’re watching what kind of players need just is this a guy that that Buffalo should be excited for if this trade goes down and would you be decided to get the first round pick what what would you guys want to do with that so of course we have to to actually wait and see if this deal goes through if it does I I think this would be a a game changer for the Sabres this is a guy that’s already mature you know he’s he’s come out of his showell the last couple years adding a Martin niches would uh be a hell of an ad for a team like the Sabers who you know could always use some mature depth there um so yeah let me know what you guys think about this deal Marty NES for a potential first round pick Let’s let’s get to a couple of our comments real quick before exactly how many we’re going to see on Friday I hope we see a couple at least but I’m under the impression things are going to go down they’re already going down as Boston and Ottawa made the trade for a goalie a couple nights ago and then I know that I’m missing one I think the Devils traded for markstrom last week and then there was maybe a couple minor ones Detroit’s Got Something Brewing I put out a couple videos on Detroit already trading wman to San Jose uh and then there’s talk uh Detroit for John Gibson Anthony DeMarco our good buddy confirmed that there definitely smoke there he said so there’s definitely moves that are going to happen will they all happen before Friday we’ll see I guess right anything can happen in Vegas though so something to keep an eye on we have sturdy chiming in sturd is a a regular on our weekly podcast we need to jump to eight sturdy’s a Flyers fan obviously talking about the flyers there uh Buffalo and Ottawa getting busy oh so maybe there’s
