This trade was ASS

if you’ve ever wondered when’s the best time to tell your fans about an awful trade you’ve just made well it turns out 10 minutes before game seven of the Stanley Cup finals is not too bad like seriously I almost forgot about it in the Afterglow of Bobby Lou Paul Maurice and the boys lifting the cup but the Bruins finally traded Len’s allmark to the Ottawa Senators and in my opinion the return is absolutely brutal so the Senators acquire allmark one year left for 5 million will come back to this though for a package of yonas corpolo 25% retained Mark castc I think I’m honestly not familiar with him 0% retained and the 25th overall pick in the draft and before we get into the Corpus solo of it all getting the 25th pick back is hilarious because it’s their own pick it’s the pick they traded at last season’s trade deadline to the Detroit Tire birds for Tyler bruzi then the Red Wings would sling the pick back to the Senators at the beginning of the season in the de Brink deal and now the pick comes home back to Boston except they’ve traded an Allstar vzna winding tender for something they could have already had if they didn’t trade for a rental at the deadline that’s some not great asset management now they’ve got corpas solo for four more years at 3 million a year which I mean isn’t an awful deal but they also just committed to fitting him in with swayan as a backup and if anything happens to him I don’t think you want Corp pasalo as your number one guy for meaningful games in fact at his contract a lot of people people were talking about how the senders might actually be looking to dump it with some assets so you throw lenus allmark on there who’s just one season off as vzna winning year and it’s kind of a weird one for Boston they probably see something in the goenda on and knowing Boston I mean they very well could be flipping him in a few years but hey Ottawa buds that’s a huge get for you typically it’s you guys getting worked over in the trade so it’s nice to be in the driver’s seat on this one but all good things may come to an end quickly as Elliot Freedman mentioned during the first intermission of game s allmar only has one year left on his $5 million deal and he doesn’t want to sign an extension until after this year so while it’s clear win at least for this season on paper ifar walks in free agency next year then it’s a bit of a tough look for the send which I mean would be typical for the SS again but hey I’m cheering for you and for this coming season I mean that’s a massive Improvement to their team also for what it’s worth in other Bruins goenda two-way one year he’s been great in the AHL but still hasn’t gotten his first NHL start I do have a strange feeling we’ll be seeing him next year but what do you think of the trade do you think it’s a move that pushes the Senators to the playoffs they had 78 points last season Washington made in with 91 points but allmark really addresses one of their needs and does not get them 6 and a half more wins let us know your thoughts down below

The Boston Bruins made a big trade right before game 7, trading goalie Linus Ullmark, and we almost forgot about it in the after glow of seeing the Panthers raise the cup! That and more in today’s NHL hockey video!

  1. Trying to force a 20 second YouTube commercial on me was almost as bad as this video. Seriously you forcing the long advertisement is why you're gonna stay irrelevant

  2. As a Bruins fan I am sad to see Ullmark leaving Boston! Him and Sway were THE best duo in nhl and the energy they were bringing was just unbeliveable. Wish him the best of luck in Ottawa(My second team since im from Quebec Canada)

  3. Imagine being so snobby that you failed to recognize ullmark wanted to be a starter and have ice time. Typical selfish rangers fan

  4. The senators have been the ultimate laughing stock of the nhl after they lost karlson. It’s kinda funny.

  5. I think Boston are a bit shrewder than what might be initially thought here. They realize his value could go either way, but a pay rise is almost certain. If this is another Carey situation, they look like geniuses. We don't see all the behind the locker room talk, but I'm guessing there's some rebuilding, cap negotiating and some banking on prospects going on here.

  6. Got to trust sweeneys 4d chess game. Maybe we'll keep the goalie but the other guy we'll package with someone else for a 1C

  7. still dont understand why thay wanted to trade him in the first place. He did have a little bit of a down period, but it just felt like thay never gave him a real chance to come back. Sway was always the second goalie in my eyes, which makes it so strange that thay did not even flinch about trading Ullmark. Yes swayman is amazing! But it would be like the rangers trading Igor cuz Quick is playing amazing.

  8. Eck, are you serious, whats up with this rant man ?
Think about it, how could boston keep two #1 goalies going on their roster, unnmark proved himself last year, swayman this year. You have to make a trade to get something back. Unfortantly unnmark was out and swayman stayed. Its a good trade for ottawa. They just need to build a good around him

  9. I mean if we are being honest, we all knew Boston was not keeping both of them and Boston already tried to trade him at the deadline

  10. What do you think the Bruins could get for him? They got a forward that could be as effective as Shawn Thornton was, they got a goalie that's capable of good numbers And will probably do really well with a shared workload And a healthy season. They got their 1st round pick back and lowered their salaries.
    Your take is garbage.
You just wanted something to bitch about.

  11. Who the f**k is bashing the Bruins for this deal? What a bunch of brain dead morons. They robbed Ottawa. The only reason Ullmark was any good was because he played on the Bruins who focus on ugly hockey and playing defence. He is going to be average at best on the Sens. The Bruins got a 1st rounder for him. That was theft.

  12. I live in Boston and the market here is fine with the trade, Joonas is gonna packaged and go somewhere else or stached in Providence. This was all about giving Swayman a long term deal and making Ulmark happy.

  13. Korpi def costed a few games just letting weak goals in on the first 5 shots in 5mins a lot this year. Shots outside the hashmark that looked more like a dump in shot than an actual shot. Uncommon sens W and im pumped for the year esp if we can find another solid D man

  14. Ur a goof bud. Ullmark is essentially a rental. Generally a team won't give up much for someone who has less than a year on his contract.

  15. as a sens fan i Love this trade gets a bad contract off the books and a great goalie for a late first and a 4 line player. You make that deal every time

  16. Imagine you had a 5M forward and you traded him for 3M forward + a first round pick + a prospect. You'd say that they had a really good trade.

We, as fans, do not understand the goaltender market. Goaltenders are crucial, but teams do not value them. Why? Because we've had so many tragic tales from Cam Talbot to Carey Price to Jack Campbell to Matt Murray and on and on and on the list goes. This creates a massive downward pressure on the goaltender market. Goaltenders are crucial, highly volatile, and extremely difficult to replace and manage if things go poorly.

But we treat our starting goaltenders the way we treat our star players because they give us so much joy. The NHL GMs do not see it that way. They really haven't ever seen in that way. And so we are constantly amazed that goaltenders are fetching far less than we think they should be fetching. Just look at Markstrom the other day.

The trade is exactly what we should've expected Ullmark to fetch.

  17. If I was New Jersey I would have gone with Ullmark not Markstrom. And that’s coming from a Canucks fan. Idk what the age difference is between the two but your getting like max maybe 3 good years out of Markstrom

  18. I hope when the 25th pick comes up on the screen it shows "Boston -> Detroit -> Ottawa -> Boston" because I just think that'd be amusing
