Smith missed a golden opportunity when Wilson was on the ground. I would have grabbed Wilson’s head and slammed it repeatedly against the ice. Or put knee on Wilson’s throat like what Reaves did to Graves. All acceptable against Wilson.
I think it’s safe to say if someone ended Wilson’s career in a most gruesome way, everyone outside of Washington would be happy. I think that’s why everyone enjoys seeing Reaves use Wilson as his mini punching bag
Are the refs and Jens95 looking at a different play than I did? This wasn't slashing the goalie or a late poke. This was Wilson not doing anything at all wrong on this play and receiving a penalty anyways. Against about 99% of the league, I'd say this was an injustice, but Wilson is in the select group of people who deserves to get treated this way by opponents anytime he's on the ice.
The slashing penalty is a joke, considering how players poke and push on every other play in front of the net. But Wilson has a reputation and so naturally he picks up the penalty 🤷🏼♂️
Funny how “ justice” seems to happen on plays that are meaningless. That was not a slash on the goalie but Wilson deserves basically any fight that comes to him
Great on Brendan’s remembering what the poke represents, even though he wears a different sweater. Smitty should have been resigned by NYR for Lefty Spot on the 3rd pair; Nemeth is awful. (Lindqvist would’ve adjusted without a fellow countryman as his partner.)
