Are they buying him out cause they think they’ll need the money to attract a big name in free agency? Because other than that do they really need that cap space? I can understand people saying they need it to compete for the playoffs, but should they really compete for playoffs or should they focus on retooling (not to say rebuilding). I would like the opinion from Flyers fans. I don’t really watch enough Flyers games so I’m kinda lost on their position.

Class move. Flyers didn’t need the cap space, but couldn’t get a trade to move him out. Doing something for a noted vet with no benefit to yourself is what sets the Flyers apart from shitbag teams like the rags.
