To be honest i think its harder to win Conn Smythe than the Stanley Cup. I think he has plenty of reason to celebrate that. If i would win that prize i would hoist it in the air and skate over the rink like people do with the stanley cup. So proud i would be.

I just witnessed a wonderful series from the Florida Panties featuring Matthew Upchuck : what a disappointment.
McDavid pretty much disappeared in the last two games. Yes he had the assists record (in more games of course) but I’m not sold on the idea that he served it more than a couple of Panthers that were huge over the course of the playoffs AND in the winner take all game.

How can any player not from the winning team be ”the most valuable”? Where’s the value if you don’t win? Winning is the one and only goal.
Getting the Conn Smythe as part of the losing team just makes losing the Cup that much worse. To paraphrase Al Trautwig when talking about J.S. Giguere, "It feels like he should've won, but didn't. That happens sometimes…."

Mcdavid is all about his team. He doesnt care. He has been the best since he first tied skates. Exactly knowing him he probably said give it to someone else. Class act humble guy.

Conn Smythe trophy should not be awarded on ice after the last game to any player from either team. This tradition is full time stupid. After the last game of the playoffs one trophy should be at ice level The Stanley Cup. Full Stop. The Conn Smythe trophy should be awarded when all other NHL trophies are handed out… It’s that simple.

Bobrovsky did not deserve the conn Smythe trophy. He did not deserve it. He did not have a Tim Thomas like performance during the playoffs. That’s a fact.
That, hopefully, will put a nail in the coffin of the Conn Smythe trophy. NHL should be embarrassed giving it to a member of the losing team.
