Corey Perry continues a cursed run of Stanley Cup Finals appearances as the Edmonton Oilers lost Game 7 to the Florida Panthers and this video talks more about it. #nhl #hockey #edmontonoilers
It’s a bit of strange case because he has a Memorial Cup, 2 Olympic Gold Medals, WJC Gold Medal, 2 gold medals in other international events and a Stanley Cup. The latter half of his career has been deemed a “curse” yet he’s won more achievements than most other NHL’rs lmao
This is the most unintelligent concept I've ever heard get passed around. Perry has not had more chances to win the cup than anyone else in the past 5 years. Everyone who makes it to the playoffs has the same chance to win the cup. Perry just consistently has gone farther than anyone else. It's called winning.
Forget about Perry's curse. Talk about the Canadian Stanley Cup curse that was created by funny enough The Canadiens. The Habs' cheap call to measure McSorley's stick that resulted in a penalty to get them a tie in G2 in 1993 that turned into a win that got them back into the series rather than down two games to none headed to LA jinxed not only the Habs but all Canadian teams. Seems the hockey gods teased the Habs in 2021 and were every crueler to the Oilcans this year teasing them with a near sweep and then torturing them with a comeback to only lose 2-1 in G7, a major kick in the privates. The hockey gods were especially cruel by having McPerfect named the Conn Smythe winner adding insult to injury giving him an individual award that he will always view as his worst. Now that's a curse.
Hell, I love Perry, and I think Edmonton picking him up was great; they really did need that Finals experience in the room, and without it I doubt they’d have made game 7. He was the only Oiler on this year’s team to have ever won a cup, and that experience is valuable. But, as a humorous superstition, if the Oilers want to make it work next year, they need to trade him to next year’s Eastern Conference champion. If he’s on the team, they lose. As long as it’s not my Habs.
But jokes aside, I wouldn’t mind seeing him with Habs next year. Even McDavid said he didn’t SEE Perry after that wicked play through the defence (game 5?), but he knew Perry would be there. That wasn’t a Hail Mary, that was trust.

Panthers baptized the cup in the ocean no cup for you Canada it's staying in Florida now 😂
Buffalo is gonna bring in Perry as 4th line center
A consistently underrated player.
It isn't real. 4 of 5 isn't 5 of 5.
Hell of a career from a great player, most players don't even sniff a cup final let alone 1 win and 4 losses.
this is the most hilarious and also sad thing ever
he'll always be a duck to me. i loved him and getzlaf as a kid.

Just retire Perry… you wasting people's roster spots.

The only curse is being a Canadian team.
He's already way past his prime. He should just return to Anaheim and retire
0:25 how did we get from 4 out of the last 5 finals to 4 finals in a row?
