Telling from experience, you don't need the most money to start mountain biking, I got a decathlon rockrider for 200 bucks and as long as youre skilled enough at what you're doing, it's more than enough

my first mtb was a Giant Talon 3 and it was great, right around $750 i believe, and then my second was a Trek Marlin 5 Gen 2 which is absolutly insane… usually $740 but as of right now, its on sale for $600 (would 100% recommend picking it up cuz is soo good).
