Home run for Utah. Sergachev's development was a bit stunted considering who he played behind in Tampa, but he always showed he had skill, skating, and physicality. In a number one role with a good partner, he will shine.

Watched Geekie this past season in Swift Current. The Broncos were a middle of the pack team until Geekie showed up and they rocketed up the standings and won the division. Team became a contender seemingly overnight. Tampa got a gem with this guy.

imo this playoff season and the Panthers grinding it out against the Oilers offense has shown that the Devils will need to be able to muck it up in the playoffs to win. I wish Tom Fitzgerald would have traded Palat to Vegas instead of Holtz. Fitzgerald deserves to be in the hot seat and on a leash. Last offseason Schmid's agent asked the Devils for more money — thus the Schmid move is kind of not surprising. I liked Akira Schmid. He proved himself when he saved the series against the Rangers.
