[Byron Bader] Rumor has it… it was Craig Conroy that was the Flames hockey ops member that was all over Johnny Gaudreau and Nikita Kucherov in 2011. And with his first draft that he’s had more than 5 minutes to prepare for … he’s gone skill with nearly every pick. Interesting.

Whose the op that vouched for Wotherspoon over Kucherov lol

  2. Do we have a generational GM? Are we entering hockey utopia?

Of the prospects that I could find information on, most were also praised for being smart with a high hockey IQ.

We are still early in the Conroy era, but I could not be happier with his performance. He’s held to his word on the direction he wanted to go.

Proper asset management with the people who didn’t want to be here, and then with players that didn’t make sense to have on the team moving forward (Markstrom and Mangiapane).

Hes going to give the young players a chance, and the vets who are still here will help to build a culture that will hopefully create a competitive franchise for years to come.

Again, it’s early, but I’m very optimistic. Need to wait a few more years.
