“Kevin Cheveldayoff just confirmed Rutger McGroarty will not be attending #NHLJets development camp next week but wouldn’t get into any more details on where things stand in regards to the 2022 first rounder.”

Unless ncaa players signs their elc before camp there’s no chance other than sometimes the first year that they come to development camp, they have to cover all costs instead of the team paying for flights and accommodations while I still think mcgroarty will probably get traded at some point him not coming to camp while not signed is a nothing burger

The right decision. Even if things are amicable, you don’t want a young player to have to face the media with everything that’s gone down this week. This could also just be a not so subtle middle finger from the Jets, since one speculated reason is that he disagrees with the Jets development plan.
Another user also pointed out that costs would be out of pocket if he were to attend since he’s not in his ELC.
