“The one thing we talked about was adding more skill, bringing more skill in. I think we did that again today.”

  1. Great job Connie!! Now stick to the rebuild and in 2025 draft Porter Martone and Caleb Desnoyers and in 2026 you get the best player the Flames have ever had in Gavin McKenna!! Flames win the cup 2030

  2. I liked the question about the in-person draft. It has always been one of the most exciting parts of the NHL and something that made it unique – like how the players lift the cup first.

I’m not sure how their ratings normally are, but I personally won’t feel a need to tune in anymore like I have every year.

  3. To be able to add high end dmen like Parekh, Mews, and Jamieson to a stable that already boasts Brzustewicz, Morin, Poirier, Grush, Solo, and Kuzy is humongous. Not to mention a quartet of top rated forwards Basha, Battaglia, Gridin, and Misa and perhaps a couple diamonds in the rough with Hoskin and Laing, and a young Russian tendy with a 1.99 and a .944. Conny was most definitely cooking up a storm today, in one of our best drafts in a long time, if not ever. I’m just choked we didn’t snag 50+ goal menace Justin Poirier, but I guess the good news is that nobody else did either. Maybe we can just sign him to an entry level deal, or take him next year. All in all, a great two days for the future of the Flames 💪🏼👨🏼‍🍳🔥LFGF

Edit: I can’t believe I missed the Canes snag Poirer at 156th. Ah well, on one hand he is smaller than the guys we got, but on the other hand the guy plays a damn big game and is only 17. I think Canes fans are gonna love him.

  4. I think Russian players are happy to play anywhere other than Russia
You never know when you’re gonna get tapped on the shoulder and told you’re going to Ukraine

  5. It looks like one of the better drafts they had. Interesting, when he mention veteran leaders, no mention of Huberdeau. Lots of talk of Kadri getting traded but you wonder if Conroy is just posturing for a trade or he really does want Kadri next season?

  6. That's the face of a coward who won't deal with a specific team because he is a sore loser about bad outcomes. Don't take it personally buddy, it was supposedly a good deal at the time. Grow up , you're a pathetic little child deciding not to do any business because of it

  7. Shorter term contracts make sense. Look at the disaster Treliving left us. 7 more years of Huberdope taking up the salary cap by millions. He is useless and untradeable.
