I have no ill will against Campbell. I do wish the guy a good remainder to his career. I wish it did work in Edmonton, because he does seem like such a grounded, cool person.

I know if wouldn’t be popular but if the oilers want to make some moves they need to trade Nurse. It’s a terrible contract for the quality of the player. Reminds me of the Lukic 7 x 6. Even if the Oilers retained 25% would be a huge win but who would take him even at that?m

Jeff Jackson had no choice but to buy out Campbell as the window closes after today. Not sure about the comment on how he's 'acting' like a GM, he will continue to do so until he finds one. BTW- you may have missed it but at the Draft he said whoever he hires he will be working closely with – that means he'll be a quasi-GM anyway regardless of who is hired (compared to NIchols who just sat back and collected a paycheck and maybe concentrated on the off ice stuff but day to day operations on the club personal wise Nicks did nothing)
These players have it all their way, even if they're not good enough. They get bought out by a team and then are able to sign somwhere else. The minute they sign that should free the cap space on the original team. You can't have it both ways.

Guentzel is a great player for sure but Tampa needs depth, they already have the top end talent to win (a core 4 of Hedman, Kuch, Vasi and Point is great)… The team doesn’t have the supporting pieces to be anything more than a good team but unserious contender
