NHL Free Agency is about 20 hours away.
At 12PM EST NHL teams can start signing Unrestricted Free Agents.
The New Jersey Devils enter Free Agency with about $20 Million in Cap Space, and are looking to fill some holes in their roster for the 2024-25 NHL Season.
General Manager Tom Fitzgerald certainly has his work cut out for him.
Defenseman Brett Pesce from the Carolina Hurricanes has been heavily rumored to the Devils for a week now. Will Pesce be a Devil tomorrow?

if I'm Fitzy, I'm doing absolutely everything in my power to get rid of Siegenthaler, put him on waivers if you can't move his contract, if we move Siegenthaler, it gives us the ability to get Zadorov, Pesce and Dillon which would be an unreal transformation. I'm unlike others in the fact that i don't think a top 6 forward is a need more of a want, get someone akin to a Brandon Hagel-esque player that will go into the dirty areas for our stars like Hughes and Bratt.
I think we’ll be pleasantly surprised by Cottor . I am personally more pissed by losing Shara for nothing than losing Holtz for a gritty forward . If we get a gritty defenseman or two I’ll call it a good offseason . Think about it soberly : now we have a proven coach , proven goalie , physical forward and it’s not over yet . Also I hope DeSimone will have another chance . He did good in a few games given . LGD !
If that defense plays out and stammer a no go I would like to see Marchessault he would definitely put us over the top. Maybe even a trade for Ross Colton depending on what he would cost. I 100 percent don’t agree with the trade yesterday but seems like Vegas fans are upset that he’s gone and feel as if they got ripped off for what ever that means. Cotter seems like a Lazar type of player that is all effort. Fitz better come back strong tomorrow and make us all forget about the shit he pulled yesterday.

If we can get Mercer to take a bridge deal for like 3.5 mil for 2-3 years then I think we are in on stamkos. But we shall see! Gonna be an exciting off season!

My wishlist in no particular order:
Top 6:
1. Stamkos: leadership, grit, win face-offs, perfect free agent signing to put with Jack
2. Otherwise Trade: look at cap-crunch teams, maybe one of the three 2nd round picks in next year's draft is part of a package deal
Bottom 6:
1. Trenin: 3rd line forward or center the 4th. More toughness
2. Noesen: good fit for 3rd line RW since Holtz got traded, would be nice to see him back
3. Martinook: good fit for 3rd or 4th line, leadership, grit
Defensemen
1. Pesce – hope rumors are true
2. Skjei – long shot; but would make the top 4 core better
3. Dillon – see Pesce above
4. Zadorov – physical defensemen to lay on hits and can play both sides
5. Kulikov – though only played for a short time in the past, did enjoy him play – and also can play both sides
IMO: team needs leadership, toughness with more hits and better forechecking, and also need more shot-blocking to help out Markstrom and Allen.

I actually like fitzy going for pesce and dillon. So I am cool with those rumors being true. But I want Stephenson and Noesen as another two brought in for the devils in the forward department. LGD!

Would love Stammer, and hoping he’s looking for respect versus money. Cup wise unfortunately Rangers can say we were just in the ECF, and Maple Leafs may be his home town team, but as you said if he could come in and further cement that legacy…man it might be a pipe dream but it’d be awesome to see him and Hughes on a line. Also, saw Shesterkin may be demanding a high price, so maybe that would also work in our favor. Long shot but that’s my hope for the crazy moves during the draft and salary dumps by Fitz.
I would love to get Bertuzzi but rumors are Red Wings. Stamkos rumors are Maple Leafs.
I would like the Devils to reach out to Jeff Skinner, I think he is cup chasing and might get him on the cheap.
Fitz can redeem himself a couple notches if he signs Zadorov the Russian beast or Stamkos.
Prepare to be disappointed.
Signing Pesce, Dillon, Marchessault, and Rico would be an A+ free agency. if we cant get Rico i wouldn't mind Duclair or Martinook, who i believe terrorized us 2 playoffs ago. Hard to attach any numbers until we see Mercer's Qualifying Offer, but I'm confident that this free agency will make us tougher to play against and in turn give jack, luke, and the smaller guys more protection and freedom. Also, it's been hard finding Devils content that I like, but you've quickly shot up to #1 on my list, so I appreciate the consistency and frequency of the vids!

That would be ALL IN moves that’s what I would do if I was our GM and Zadorov this offseason too Monster like Colin White back in the day he would be a main stay for his career, him and Anton will be scary in 5 years if they are our 3rd pairing we will have the best defence in the league.
