  1. Guenztel did Carolina very dirty.

According to their local beat reporter Cory Lavalette, Guenztel and his camp asked Carolina for an 8×8 deal, which Tulsky and co agreed to do. Then, when Carolina confirmed they would indeed match what he wanted, Guenztel ghosted them until the draft, and then told them he wasn’t re-signing. Leaving them in the dust mere hours before FA opens.

NASTY business by Guentzel and his agents. I’m not sure if what I just said is video worthy but it’s still extremely dirty business by Guentzel

  2. As a Canucks fan, I did not want Tanev back, if Toronto is dumb enough to overpay for an old and fragile defensemen, please have him

  3. So, all the big pieces are now off the market. This means Vancouver will probably look similar to last year, but maybe just a bit weaker without the few key players that had left. Oh well, at least there will be another 30 teams not going to the finals with them.

  4. They definitely have a window. Superstar goalie and arguably the best forward in the world. I love McDavid but the kuch is nota slouch

  5. After 1 year tanev litr the way he blocks shots he's going to break leg like robidas he'll see him on his island after 1 year

  6. As a red wings fan I'm over here saying Stamkos, Stamkos,Stamkos!!! Even if it's only 3-5 years. It would be so good For our young players

  7. Canucks are so mid it’s not funny

They have 3 top 6 forwards

    2 top 4 D

Won first place in the weakest division of 2023-24 where 4 teams finished in the bottom 10….

    Edmonton slow start
    Vegas limping all year
LA trading away talent for PLD…

Tocchet has a good system, but he doesn’t have the horses

If they brought everyone back, they wouldn’t be good enough

If Zadorov and Lindholm don’t return they lose 2 of the best playoff perforners they had.

    It’s not looking great.

    Overrated and overachievers

  8. 5m for tanev is crazy, as a Canucks fan I’m glad he’s not coming back at that aav. Maybe I’m crazy but I feel like he’s worth 3.5m at most on a 2 year deal

  9. The caps have increased and the caps will continue to increase so salaries are going up. 5m or 5.5m isn't overpaying anymore. Give us Zadorov

  10. If Leafs overpay and overterm Tanev, one question. Why?!!? Pay Zadorov. Don't be stupid! Jeezus!!!!! How do these guys get jobs!

  11. Leafs fan…. Term doesn't really matter too much. Retirement or LTIR it and you don't have to worry about the cap hit. He's under that 35 year threshold. I could see a few teams attempting to circumvent the cap this way this summer

  12. Bolt fan here. LOVE this acquire! We get younger with a guy who is a MUCH better 5v5 player than Stammer. We lose a bit on the PP. Stammer in his "office" is one of the all-time greats. 5v5…he's been "meh" for a while. Regardless, Stammer will have his number retired in Tampa and will go into the HoF as a Bolt. LOVE that man but it's a BUSINESS. And JBB made the right BUSINESS decision.
