Imo, he’d probably be best off signing 2 years here with a handshake agreement that he gets traded to a contender at this deadline. He played the best hockey of his career under Richardson. If it was about money, he’d have us overpay. If it was about contending again, the only buyers at the deadline are those trying to contend. Unfortunate

That’s fine. It’s not like it cost us anything to trade for his rights. The guy wants to win so let him see if any contenders call him and if they don’t he can sign a deal here.
