He’ll do well for them in a depth role, good 6th/7th defensive defenseman. Don’t mind freeing up the spot though.

  2. I was guessing a 5th in 2025, so I’m fine with this. Realistically it’s this or we end up losing him on waivers at some point.

Considering we got him for free this is a good return

  4. MythicalG4m3r

Somebody had to go, we have too many defensemen fighting for a spot.

I’m surprised we managed to grab a 4th round honestly. Good trade for both teams

Damn. A 4th in two years. Hurts to lose him for just that. Someone on the ~~Left~~ *Right* had to go, a bit surprised it’s him. Super steady guy.

But also, turning a waiver claim into a 4th is not shabby.

Good Luck in NJ, Kova! I’ll definitely miss you.

People saying we’re freeing space for defence, Who Do you think will be playing on the right side?

From what I remember, its Guhle Savard and Kovacevic last year. And I hated that they put Guhle on the right side because they had too much dmen on the right. So is another trade coming for a Lefty, or we assume Guhle will still play on the right side?

This is so sad. I liked him so much 😭

Savard and Barron are our only RHD with NHL experience. Opens up a spot for Mailloux or Reinbacher.

I imagine we could still see one of our LHD moved, and we may sign a RHD in FA who can play in Laval or get called up to MTL.

  10. Keep cooking, Kent Ramsey.

    Goodluck and farewell, Kova.

It’s better than to lose him for nothing through waivers

    Good luck!

I always appreciated Kovy’s calmness in chaos & his philosophical and well thought out answers during interviews.

Barron better come in improved next season

I get why he got traded, but still a damn shame to lose him.

Such a great, smart kid who will play to the [whistle] (https://youtu.be/hYt7sQ3fqpw).

Hope NJ treats him well! I’ll miss honda civic on the blueline.

Cool gut and good asset management.

    Good luck kovacevic

He was awesome for us. He had a role and did it very well.

28 points and 139 games from a waiver claim that turns into a mid-round pick. Good win.

  18. Wonder now if we would be interested in Boqvist since we dont have many rd

  19. Plane-Ad4820

It will be the highest of the three 4th rounders they have as well

  20. Team must have liked what they saw of Mailloux/Reinbacher at the end of last season. Team showed they weren’t shy about using young blueliners in the NHL.

There’s also Barron losing his waivers exemption next season, so Habs might have just sacrificed Kovacevic right away.

Frees up about 766K and a contract slot, which is negligible, but coming into UFA season you count every little thing.

There’s conditions on the pick. It’ll be the ~~latest~~ highest between WPG/DAL/NJ. It’s not a great return, but it’s an asset for a waiver pickup.

    edit: fixed conditions

Sad to see you go Kova, wishing you the best in NJ!!

That’s a great return for our boy. Glad he played for us he was a good bottom pairing plug and seemed like a good locker room guy. Wish him all the best with the devils.
