Look at that A1/60, just inject it into my veins

  2. HottyMcDoddy

No it’s not. It’s basically exactly what he’s worth.

  3. CocoKeel22

I agree, just don’t look at any other parts of his game, I swear they’re good

  4. CMDRShepardN7

It makes way too much sense to keep him beside a selke finalist who scored 69 goals.

  5. Assist merchant.

Still, he’s a very valuable player, brings good vibes, can come clutch in the playoffs. Plus he has good chemistry with Matthews.

  6. Could not agree more. I honestly thought he’d be looking for higher. The limited no move is a pleasant surprise, too. So glad to have Max back!

it’s a good signing for that price point, also he scored 9 goals last year. I think he can do better than that for the next few years. I know everyone putting all the blame and pressure on the stars but if you look at our 3rd line for the playoffs and 4th line this year, we had 1 goals (Kampf) from them. The year prior, 8 goals from bottom 6 in 11 playoff games, everyone not in the top 6, highest point producer was 3 points. The Leafs simply are not going to win with that kind of production from the other half of the forward lines.

  8. YUUUUP, sure is! His twitter post is legendary too. Love this signing.

  9. Disingenuous post ultimately

    – a healthier 2 year sample size has him tied with coyle, rust, hoglander, tippett, wheeler, vilardi, etc. by total pts/60 (no question impressive assists but ofc everything matters)

    – as ever his overall WAR numbers are not great bob, microstats slightly better, so

    – turns 30 during the season, many dropoff then and the deal has term

All told I think it’s a pretty solid contract, would prefer Sprong naturally, his empty calorie scoring is at least much higher

Sprong ahead of Rantanen, JTMiller by pts/60 last two seasons

He’s like those tasty dutch spice cakes (to continue the calorie metaphor)

  10. And there are still dumbasses in the other thread going “durr it’s not a discount”

Middle 6 centre who can spot extended 1st line duty, play wing, pot 10-20 goals 50-60 pts and will fight anyone

Yeah this is an insane discount.

Considering he was Matthews replacement when he was injured in the playoffs. And dominated in the role…ya 3.75 ain’t bad

  12. BlueHotCoconut

Let’s not pretend because you sorted by one category that he is anywhere close to those other players listed. But yes, decent value.

  13. NervousBreakdown

It’s not ridiculous value. I think the contract will probably be just fine but this was the high end of what domi was worth in terms of cap hit and term. He was coming off of back to back 1 year 3 million deals and he scored less than the previous year. Let’s not act like this is some bargain.

Good value deal to offset some overpayments on the roster. The Leafs can use a few more of these sweet team friendly deals

  15. Dear_Tiger_623

Yeah I don’t agree with everything Treliving has done so far but this is an exceptional contract.

  16. I wonder if this is how other fans feel when someone takes a home town discount. Such an alien feeling

  17. mrcrazy_monkey

People on /hockey were criticizing Domi because he only had 8 goals in 80 games completely ignoring that he almost broke 50 points

  18. DutchOvenMaster11

Great deal!!! Not so great deal, signing Liljergren 2yrs @ $6 million. He’s unplayable in the playoffs; he gets manhandled.

I loved Domi with the Habs, and I think he fits really well as a Leaf and especially on this Leafs team.

Inconsistent effort and play was an issue for him as a younger player, but he seems to have overcome that and knows his role now and plays it to a T.

3.5 is a great AAV and four years is perfect for him. Considering the cap is going up, I think he easily could get more elsewhere.
