Just stay healthy you fucker and this could be great

  2. Is this not a little high for a guy who has shown promise but not been able to stay healthy?

  3. matnerlander

Ah yes the next victim of our starting goalie curse

  4. Woullie_26

    It’s a gamble

if he stays healthy it could be a steal.

    If not? Well…

Overpaid. Whatever. At least he isn’t 35.

If he were to play lights out this season, that AAV goes way up by next off-season. This keeps him here for the same duration as Matthews’ contract, yes there is some risk surrounding his injuries, but we’re in a position where we need to take some risk to remain as competitive as possible during this window

Top 5 goaltender for under 3.7 AVV? Brad going for GM of the year so far

Solid deal, this is what good teams do. They don’t sit on their hands and wait for their talented players (marner and Nylander) to have career years and then sign them. They take a calculated risk and sign them before they have their good year. I feel a lot of leaf fans are mad at a deal like this because their so used to signing guys to late that they don’t get there’s another way.

A young guy who can improve and exceed this contract. I like this signing.

This seems pretty undeserved. Even if he had a good year what price would he have commanded, 4-4.5?

I hope we find a way to trade Robertson for askarov. Then these two can battle for the net for 2 years, at which point you give askarov this deal and trade Woll for an upgrade somewhere else.

Will wait to see what goalies get in UFA before I judge this lol.

  13. I love Woll but I really think he won’t be consistently healthy..

The guy has been injured what, 3 times and he’s only played like 35 games?

  14. RoughRunner

I don’t see why they need to be taking bets on an injury prone goalie who is still under contract and will be an RFA at the end of the season. I get that other than the injury history they like a lot of things about him but they have a good goalie prospect pool with overage draftees and they could just wait till a Markstrom like contract becomes available again. Now you have to rely on Woll for 4 years or pay to dump him as the cap hit is not insignificant, it’s similar to Mrazek.

No brainer. He’s been great for periods and he’s had a rough time for others. But you sign him and see if you can’t make a bona fide starter out of him in the next three years.
