How does a buy out work with a team retaining 25% of players salary?
I don't think Korpi is as bad as he played in Ott. I think under the strict defensive style of the bruins, he can be redeemed enough in order to serve as trade bait at the next trade deadline. Use him, increase his value, and trade him asap. That seems to make the most sense to me.
Ottawa was so poorly coached last year that a lot of times Korpisalo faced many quality chances which may have caused his numbers to fall. That being said he may have won two or three games for us and that’s it and he was clearly to blame for many losses. The good news is that apparently he follows a bad year with a good year. Anyways thanks for taking him off our hands and I hope the guy you draft with that 25th overall pick you got in the trade has a good long career for you. Cheers from Ottawa🍁
I really hope both teams end up winning from this trade. Best case scenario Ullmark plays great and signs long term & your 1rnd pick and Korpi perform well. Good luck!
I dont mind kastellic and the first although it shouldve been Ottawas first pick, its korpisalo that doesn't make sense, unless they have plans to ship him out …hell, we could've signed a decent trail horse for 1 or 1.5 to backup one year and saved over 2

I actually feel bad for Korpisalo. Maybe his numbers sucked was because of the team in front of him. But I still don't get the trade.
This is a terrible trade for Boston they waited way to long to trade him.
Korpisalo did twice his regular workload. Hes a back up goalie. He should see 25 games a season. The sens overworked him. Add thst he was behind a horrible defense and you can see what im saying. I think goaile bob had a plan from dsy one of trade talks for him. He wasnt bad behind better defensive teams. Ullmark was no stud till he got to boston. Im curious to see what essensa does with him.
No one will give up a pick for Kipisalo. Bruins will waive him in hopes that someone else takes a flyer on him. If not, then Bruins will keep him and try to get his value up
Why is everyone acting like the roof fell in? Korpi is a solid goalie. And you need 2 goalies in todays nhl. Sway cant play 82. And if sway has some struggles you cant turn to bussi to play a bunch in a row yet. I honestly think this is a sneaky good move by don. Anyone remember how Ullmarks stint in buffalo went? Ya me either. He was just ok. Then theres guys saying well why pay korpi 3 when we could have just kept ully at 5. Its only 2 mil difference. Well because we got a FIRST round pick this year guys.
