[Lavoie] Alex Burrows won’t be back with the Canadiens coaching staff next season. It’s his decision, not the team decision. He wanted to spend more time with his family. He’ll normally stay in the organization in another position.

The tank is over. We’re gonna have a powerplay!

  2. BeBenNova

Well that might seriously benefit our powerplay without making it awkward

  3. KoreanPhones

    Huge for our special teams.

Thanks Burrows, but at the same time… PEACE ✌🏻

  4. Inb4: People screaming POWER PLAY BETTER when Martin St.Louis vas directly involved in the PP, mentionned a lot by Basu and Godin this year.

Our power play improves for the first time in like 5 years and then our pp coach immediately leaves, you can’t make this up.

  6. We’re actually somehow going to end Free Agent Frenzy day with 0 players added and 1 coach lost.

  7. I can understand his decision. He went straight from retirement into a coaching job 6 years ago. He has three kids 13, 11 and 8 and hasn’t had any down-time since their birth. He’s probably done with all the traveling too.

He’s still young at 43. By comparison, MSL is 49, but he had 3-4 years post retirements where he just coached his kids and spent time with them.

On the hockey side, an important spot opened on the coaching staff, on top of the already-vacant Laval HC spot.

It was time for a change so this is the best possible way to go about that.

no hate to burrows but i think the team needed this change, interested to see who the habs bring in to replace him

Did his best with the talent he had to work with

  11. Guy made 32 million bucks in 13 seasons, I wouldn’t wanna work either

  12. I think it was going this way regardless, no offense but we needed someone else… The remains of Bergevin outside of the ice are gone

Time to bring back Kirk Muller lol.

But seriously, when he was assistant coach of the Blues, they had like one of the best PPs in the league. Then he came back to Montreal and our PP was still terrible.

Literally bring in ANY experienced veteran coach to help Marty with his occasional rookie-coach brain farts and to chime in on potential structural shortcomings (i.e. make the hybrid D system a bit less precarious, make the PK good again) and this team will start to cook, guaranteed.
