the Boston Bruins just made two enormous signings uh if you’re a Leafs fan or you’re a fan of anybody else in the division ah we’re here again I mean hello darkness my old friend brought to you by 888 before uh I let you guys speak I just want to I want to get this out seven years 54.2 million for Al lolm and then for uh zadorov we’re talking about a guy that’s now making five million bucks over the next six years that’s 30 million bucks so Lind Holm will take up 9% of the Bruins cap and it looks like zadorov will close to 6% is it weird to say that they’re buying high on zadorov and almost kind of low on lyol yeah because lyol didn’t have the best time the last two years he didn’t have a straight up good year this year like he he wasn’t good on the on the uh flames and then when he got traded to the canox I’m like ah here he is he’s going to take off and he was fine but boy fine boy Vancouver paid a lot for him like I I liked a lot of what Vancouver did um I don’t know that didn’t work out all that well they tried to deal him before the trade deadline yes well allegedly is lindol a onc like I I get I understand when you have pasta everybody’s cool next to him but as a one C is he good enough he he doesn’t have to be like uh I I know he’s being paid like one yeah um he’s or he’s being paid like a like a premium 2C um what what this gives is it gives Jim Montgomery flexibility like Len Holm doesn’t need to be pigeon hold into being the onc um you know zaka was really good he was really good for them Charlie Coyle can still give them really good minutes uh in that spot like you said their bread and butter is on the wings they they have like one of the scariest Hired Guns in the entire NHL like the pro scouting staff for the Boston Bruins is to be trusted um and the best team the best team in the league at finding Bruins zadorov I mean geez that’s obvious yeah he’s a Boss Boston for sure is but I would lyol is too he’s a jerk and you know sneakily he is and he’s really good between guys who can score I guess he’ll likely be playing with yep David poock and Brad Martian when they went out and got hampus linol again it’s not like I watch 82 Ducks games a year I remember thinking I’m I’m not totally sure that’s a fit he’s been in absolutely glorious fit uh in Boston and that kind of feels like the defensive equivalent of lolm um he still got to find his way back to what he was and what he was was a 40 goal scorer who was the runner up for the selki trophy people forget that right um you know the Bruins are uh currently looking for someone to fill their perennial Sky Trophy winning void uh left by Patrice mergon they’re two really good signings but expensive they could go sideways I do want to say I think I think Lin holm’s a bit of a risk but I think it’s a worthwhile risk at 775 not going to kill you but I think it’s one of those where I I do think that they are banking on LY Holm being the linol of PRI Gad kachuck leaving Calgary it’s so interesting because that ly holm’s like little run here because 2022 obviously is the peak of Lind Holmes career the 42 goal season he has the great line mates and then last season in 75 games I’m pretty sure puts up 15 goals and it’s like okay so are what are we closer to the 15 goal L home or the 42 goal L home and I think I’m trying to convince myself that this is a really good deal because I think about the line mates he’s going to have in Boston and the type of team that Boston have and you mentioning the selki trophy he’s going to be great defensively I think he’s going to get his game back in Boston it feels like this is Resurgence for Lind Holmes so I like this deal they that team has earned the benefit of the doubt and the reason for that is how many times in recent memory have the Bruins had a guy where you go man they’re really not pulling their weight this year you know what I mean like Jim Montgomery uh in some ways had to squeeze blood from a stone uh last year you lost cree and berson in one Fell Swoop like zaka had no real previous experience as a tops six center in the NHL Charlie Coyle may be on your second line sometimes and now some experience under their belt you can run linol zaka Coyle and beer you know as your four centers and that’s not bad it just makes them a deeper more frustrating matchup down the middle which was maybe a perceived weakness for them and like you know leaving lyol alone for a second like of all the free agents to seemingly leave money on the table uh this summer I didn’t think Nikita zadorov would be one of them like what what happened to all the oh yeah he’s going to get like seven time seven oh he’s going to get six the extra years it’s the story we’ve been repeating all day long the extra years gets him down in aav yeah but he’s not getting extra years really like what what did he sign for five yeah isn’t it I thought he was going to get the max I thought he was going to get sov was actually six years yes oh six years yeah and I think that’s what I think people had it backwards I think they thought he was going to get six time six million a year times 5 years he got 5 million time 6 years yeah I think that those six years brings down that a to five which is a great deal cuz he’s going to be zadorov in Boston which is going to be dangerous and he’s 29 now so you got to think at the end of that six year deal it’s not going to be the best but who cares and and I look at this too as a leaf fan and I go okay I know analytics don’t love Nikita zadorov and I know he’s got his weaknesses but I’ll tell you this when the Leafs play him in the playoffs and he’s whooping whooping their ass all over the ice I saw this guy play every Canucks game these playoffs he was phenomenal he was an absolute standout he’s a he’s a truck out there and that stuff matters like these playoffs it’s so interesting you know people can criticize the Tyler Myers resigning in in Vancouver they’re like well they just got out of a bad deal with Tyler Myers why are they getting back into another one and I’m like dude did you watch them play this they love this guy they loved Tyler Myers and I can tell you Nikita zadorov is gonna they’re gonna statues built to this guy in Boston an infectious personality really funny guy funny guy crushes people and scores incredible goals his goals to year were like top corner like off rush and and you go Nikita Zadora it’s like he doesn’t waste time with garbage goals no no they’re beneath him no and and you know and and and but you talk about Lindholm being um a Lindholm SI Lindholm a posterized hole on the first line how about a Chara sized hole on the uh on the defense that is now filled by a gigantic guy who isn’t charara but no I mean Chara is a unicorn he’s a once in a lifetime you know there hasn’t been a 69ine player since who runs marathons still who runs marathons and and does frakin jiujitsu and rock climbing and cycling and all the other ridiculous things that zido Char does and boxing the 69ine kid that was drafted the first round on our live stream on Friday he beat the record for highest uh first round draft tallest first- round draft bit because he’s 69 and a half I forget his name no he wasn’t 69 and a half yeah they they marked him at 69 and a half wow he was on his tiptoes cheating so he he owns the new record anyways I thought i’ throw that W that’s fascinating fascinating I got to go back and and interestingly Boston still has about $8 million to spend if they don’t any trades so of course they do I’ll blow it up your nose there Boston now that part of that has to be resigning Jeremy Swan and I imagine majority of that goes to it again this comes back to if Boston wanted to add I don’t understand why they got junis Unis Corpus solo don’t get that at all but I guess they feel good about it I listen I’m telling you I’ll never bet against that stupid fraking team Scout staff I bet Corpus allo is fine for them
