Do the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks have buyers remorse from their mid-season signings?

After signing William Nylander and Elias Pettersson mid-season, the contracts that the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks dished out are looking far more expensive than the contracts that those who waited until July 1st are signing for. Do these teams have buyers remorse, or are they satisfied with getting those deals done when they did.

  1. No remorse to leafs signing

Tanev, OEL, Domi, Hakanpaa and Murray. Tanev If after the 3rd or 4th yr Tanev can't play anymore they can put him LTIR they can bury his contract Robidas Island lol

  2. the canadian government has much bigger fish to fry than worrying about franchise owners and their staff. It's bettman that should be worrying about the state of hockey with regards to the NHL's Canadian franchises.

  3. We don't in Vancouver at all. Guys took discounts to stay, guys we beat and played in the playoffs wanted to join this culture. We're reaping the rewards of losing a first and Hunter and part of that was to move a bad contract anyway.

    10/10 would do again.

  4. Buyer's remorse? Look Hazer, the Oilers will have instant remorse when they sign Draisaitl to a contract starting with a 12. Then they will experience instant euphoria when they win the cup in a couple of years. All while the Leafs continue to flail around.

  5. Wtf? Why are you including the nucks in that headline? Think the makemelaughs could ever sign anything higher than a third liner or depth?

  6. Willie isnt worth more than 7 with the pizza's he serves up tl opponents and his lazy effort to get back after his many give aways worst contract in the league

  7. ”The only remorse they have is with their government there in Canada” 😂 One of the severest burns against a country in history

  8. Of course they talk about players signing in Florida where the tax is lower. If they sign anywhere else it’s on a 10+ million dollar AAV. Deal.

  9. It's obvious that Reinhart took the cap hit that he did because he wants another cup with his boys in Florida. You can't really look at any one mid-season signing and regret it retroactively when you knew what you were getting into the day you made those signings. You make those signings while preparing for multiple scenarios in the future, or else it's just reckless management anyways.

  10. NHL has to instate and after tax salary cap it’s getting insane that these no tax states have won 4/5 of the last cups and colorado the one exception is only 4.4%

  11. Be real. Florida like other US states are no tax states. So players there can take a cut and works out same money as in Canada. Is TSN Canadian station?
