    Notes:

we currently sit at $7,341,666 of open cap space. Not sure why Daily Faceoff decided to not place Greer on the 3rd or 4th line but i assume he probably bumps Mackie or Asplund.

Could stand to add a defenseman to shore up the 3rd pairing but I wouldn’t hold my breath for a difference maker.

Keith Yandles cap hit comes off the books next year. That adds an additional 1.2 million towards extensions for both swaggy and Benny or atleast one of them.

Overall, not as deep as we were 72 hours ago but I feel like Zito may still have some moves in him

I’m still curious if Ekblad is moved, but since we lost Monty and OEL, that might have changed for Zito.

Still a very good team – but glad we won when we were absolutely stacked

  4. Worth noting we still have Mahura waiting in the wings, right?

    ETA: jk, he’s currently unsigned

I think Greer ends up getting a spot on the 4th line over Asplund. Also I would like to see another quality defenseman added, but I know they feel very comfortable with Balinskis getting a fill time gig and they think they might have found a hidden gem in Brojnfot. Lots of time left in the offseason and I still think Zito has a big surprise signing or trade cooking up. Excited to see how the lineup shapes up throughout the rest of the summer

  6. Think Nosek Centers the 4th line, and wondering if Sourdif or Greer are given a chance to play over Asplund or Boqvist, but otherwise I not only agree, but now I’m already excited about October.

I’d like to see us get 2 more decent defensemen, not concerned about our forwards just need to sign lundell and wouldn’t mind keeping tarasenko and Lorentz if we can afford it

The cup tax is real. Zito is going to have to make lemonade out of some elc’s, pto’s or “prove it” deals on minimum.

Welcome to the ring of recent champions, boys!

  9. What is the ceiling on Lundell since he is only 22? Will he be a top 6 player one day?

  10. SmarterThanCornPop

That’s a good enough team to repeat.

That bottom D pairings are concerning we do not have much of an issue with our forwards. We need a solid PK and 4 line center like Stenlund. Still have $7 mil cap space, we need to get Lundell figured out but it’s promising not as strong as last year but we have a solid core with Ekblad contract and Yandles buyout coming off next year. Bob and Knight are also off the books in two years given how Knight is kind of a wild card here.

    4th line will be jesper.boquist
Gadgy tj greer or tomas nosek

  13. GlassWrong2091

Zito is trying to shop him but hard with a 7.5 mil price tag
That would give us money to extend verhagae

Forwards look good. Maybe grab another cheap guy for depth.

The Dmen look a bit rough especially with Ek on the trading block. Who’s gonna run PP1 and 2?

There’s always free agents available during playoff season. The window is open for another cup or two so we’ll be fine

  16. Deadbolt2023

    Decent lineup – possibly a playoff team…

I kid, I kid – Cats are strong!

  17. 2024PantherChamps

Do we think we have depth with all of our new players? I’m thinking yes
