Pavel Datsyuk BACK with Red Wings

“I miss Detroit. I care about Detroit.”

Per Jeanna Trotman Pavel is back with the Wings in hopes to help them continue their progress. He is here to help for development camp as the priority, as of now.

  1. Borderline clickbait title… but I’m ok with it 🙂

  2. EngineeringPaper

He’s using the Dev camp for conditioning and will be in red wings Top 6 playing with Kane is what I got out of that

  3. Maybe Kane is sitting there considering if he should join the development camp as well. That would be a sight to see!

  4. I wasnt old enough to to care when he played, but when i was in first grade him and kronwall came to my school and our class got a picture with them

No playoffs since he left… looks like playoffs are back on the menu 👹

With Pav and Kane as tutors, I’m ready for Mickey and Ken to start a decade of calling Danielsonian dekes

BRO THAT FUCKING PASS THAT JUST COMPLETELY MISSED HIS STICK, THAT HE ONE TIMED BACK TO THE GUY WITH HIS GOD DAMN SKATE. He is not a human.

Glad Pasha is back with the org. I really hope they retire his number. 19 and 13 were all I wore growing up playing hockey because of my idols. Now they’re back together in the organization?! Amazing.

Hope this bodes well for #91 to be welcomed back sometime in the future as well

Putin’s russia maybe not all he remembered.

  11. This is just a long game to get Leon’s attention. And I’m here for it.

We miss you too! Just seeing him with a smile on his face brightens my day!

  13. I worked with the team back during the “golden era”…1998 thru 2005. I was at a lot of practices and the thing I always remember about Datsyuk, at least from that time, was that he wouldn’t just be the last off the ice, he’d come back for a fresh sheet and be out there doing one little move/shot over and over and over, an hour later.

Datsyuk would have a trainer feed him 100 pucks for the smallest move…. Two steps and backhand shot, repeat that 100 times. Or, mimicking a puck protection move along the board, over and over, the exact same action.

It was simpler than shooting/skating drills you’d do with Mites/squirts but it was Pavel Datsyuk, and not just an 8 min station.

It taught me that nothing is natural and you need to break it down to perfecting the smallest pieces to really achieve mastery.

I mean it’s obviously unrealistic but not impossible….is it?

For one, I wonder if technically he could sign an NHL contract and still keep his selection into the HHOF? The vote is over, right? He’s in. So could he now play professionally again? lol

Second, it’s been done before at his age. Howe did it. Jagr did it. Chelios did it. They played as “old men”.

Third, it’s been done before. Joe Kocur was playing in a beer league when he got a call from Scotty.

Fuck it. I think it should be a consideration. Whaddya say guys?

First they re-sign the only 2 current NHLers I’ve met, now they bring back the guy whose poster was on my wall as a kid. Big days for my memories.

Oh shit this man providing influence for the likes of Kane? Holy shit.

I was a little salty when Pav got sucked into the homeland stuff. Hoping he can get stuck here in Detroit.

  17. I trust my player development to Pavel. You should too.
