I still like the idea of Othmann on the first line. He has a great shot, plays physical & has learned to be more defensively responsible in Hartford. Berard has a real shot as the 4th line centre & can kill penalties too. Third line center is up in the air, but Chytil would be good there, but with significant injury risk. Could be Smith-Chytil-Cullye or Othmann if Smith goes to the first line. Hopefully, Robertson gets a good look as the possible 7th D.
For perspective, Othman was drafted ahead of Wyatt Johnston in the 2021 draft. Let's give him an opportunity if he has the chops!
The lack of a big signing leads me to believe some of the kids down on the wolfpack will be getting a serious chance to make the NHL lineup this upcoming season. While it sucks the Rangers didn't make any good free agent signings, it also leaves chances for some of the Rangers top prospects to get some NHL experience and perhaps be on the active NHL roster when the season starts. It seems to me Drury is banking on some of the Rangers prospects to able NHL ready this season. Regardless, I'm really looking forward to the pre-season/start of the regular season.
