Bill's rant at the end makes no sense. Every team invests in free agents to play the 4th line … its the most short term, vet heavy role in the league. You need guys can 100% can do certain things like defense, forecheck, PK etc. Charlie is 100% right that is makes more sense for those roles to sign actual good proven vets that can do that role well over playing C level prospects that likely arent good enough to be NHL regulars. Vast majority of prospects simply arent good enough for NHL, even 4th line.
Ok for Hathaway but Erik Johnson Come on, we have coach for the defense ( Brad Shaw) and a good one Too 🤷🏒🤔
