I Feel Bad for Connor McDavid
welcome to game two of the Stanley Cup Final between the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers it started with Conor McDavid struggling to get the puck off Alexander barov but then McDavid reminded us why he’s the best player in the world it’s crazy he can still do things like this while being Florida’s number one target my guess is the Panthers game plan is to give him the space to do his moves and focus more on ensuring he has no passing options to make a play at least that’s what happened here then I got to highlight this shift by Florida’s thirdd line because it’s a great example of why they’re so difficult to play against look how hard they’re working they come up with the puck even when they’re not the first to touch it the Oilers had multiple chances to clear it but the Florida four Checkers were simply outworking them and if it weren’t for this smart play by Vincent de har who by the way was taking Cody cce’s place in the Oilers lineup for game two it very well could have led to a goal but even still all de her could do was dump the puck down the ice allowing the Panthers to maintain possession it wasn’t looking good for the Oilers early on but then Sam Bennett got called for tripping Evan buard putting Edmonton on the power play and despite not scoring in game one the Oilers have a lethal power play ever thanks to this block by Gustaf forsling barov deflecting mcdavid’s seeing ey pass out of play and not one but two great defensive plays by Aaron eblad the Panthers killed it off then a few minutes later Evan Rodriguez and Sam carrot crashed into each other resulting in rrod completing an accidental backflip and man it looked like it hurt and then Warren Fogle collided with E2 luster ran and was called for kneeing and I’ll be honest at first I thought this was a yucky play by Fogle but I’ve watched the replay so many times now and I really don’t think he was intending to injure any anyone here he wasn’t being a jerk with his knee it was just a kneejerk reaction but I do think the refs made the right call handing him a 5-minute major and kicking him out of the game because intentional or not it was a dangerous play things were not looking good for the Oilers at this point but then Oliver emman Larsson was called for tripping putting the teams at four on four allowing this to happen it’s like a three on one scor I can’t lie I was not expecting that not only because Florida had been dominating up until that point but after his performance in game one seeing Sergey Bovi let a puck get by and made me feel like I was hallucinating one nothing Oilers also I just got to say that the game presentation on ESPN is so much better than sportset like look at this graphic this is sick come on sportset Brandon Montour hit the crossbar foring showed us why he’s one of the best defensive players in the game stopping Zack Heyman from breaking in on a clean Breakaway McDavid jumped over the bench shot out of a cannon skating a billion miles per hour leaving a trail of soil Panthers underwear behind him but bosski was able to make the save welcome back to Florida here with Chris noock what went through your mind when Warren Fogle took that penalty this uh tough call for the referee ough you finally got a lead in this series what did it take what did it take to get your first goal in the series um now if you’re wondering why I haven’t mentioned Darnell nurse in this video yet it’s because he barely played in this game after taking a hit from Rodriguez early in the first period his minutes were extremely limited and I think it’s a safe bet to assume he’s injured now whether or not he’ll be in the lineup for game three is unknown but he only played four minutes in game two so I guess we’ll see Conor McDavid took flight again steuart Skinner made a nice save then Evan Bard jabbed Matthew kachuck in the face with the butt end of his stick and obviously got called for it just a terribly stupid penalty to take but it’d be okay because kachuck took an equally stupid penalty just a minute later nullifying the Panthers power play then halfway through the second period Florida tied the game with a sick goal I mean it wasn’t super fancy or anything it just looked and sounded awesome it was such a hockey goal I don’t know how else to explain what I mean so I’m just going to let it play with audio here’s lond Del drops it off he score 1 by the way I’m not cheering for the Panthers or the Oilers I’m a Canucks fan and I’m always cheering for them even when they’re not playing no matter who wins the cup it’s a win-win for kanuck fans Skinner robbed kachuck babski robbed Leon dry side then Evan vard made an incredible pass to the wrong team allowing Rodriguez to snipe home his fifth of the playoffs to put the Panthers up 21 then watch this Ryan Newen Hopkins went to dump the puck in so he could chase after it but forcing whacked it right out of the air and sent the play the other way I’m so mad that the Canuck’s old management team gave up on this guy after drafting him in the fifth round I’m not okay kachuck hit buard dry saddle hit barov wait that was a very obvious elbow look for some reason nobody believes me when I say I’m unbiased despite the fact that I’m literally Canadian I predicted the Oilers would win this series and if they win the cup it actually makes the Canucks look better but still people want to say that I’m cheering for the Panthers I’ll say it again I’m not cheering for anybody I’m happy with whoever wins now with that being said Leon dry Sidle is Mr poo poo pants he gets mad when his team is losing which is fine but he takes out his anger like a little baby and there is no doubt in my mind that he did that on purpose I don’t think he wanted to injure barov but I think he was seeing red and he let his emotions get the best of him barov left the game and didn’t return meanwhile all Leon got was a 2-minute penalty but hey the Panthers got the last laugh because they scored on the ensuing power play putting the game Out Of Reach for Edmonton 3-1 Florida bski made a save with his forehead the Oilers got mad avander Kane started crying Sergey Rob stoy robbed McDavid on a breakaway McDavid was mad so he set his sights on Matthew kachuck and thought of the worst thing he could say you’re dumb [Music] the Oilers pulled Skinner eblad scored on the empty net and Florida won 4-1 taking a two nothing series lead over Edmonton brutal anyway thanks to these wonderful knads who choose to support the channel by clicking the join button thank you for As a Canucks fan, do you want to know what pisses me off other than the oilers and their fan base? When I tell people I’m cheering for Florida and they get mad at me and say something like “oh, Edmonton is Canada’s team and that’s so unpatriotic” I can guarantee you most oilers fans wouldn’t be cheering for the Canucks if we were in the finals and I’d be willing to bet a lot on that. You know what backs that up? When the Canucks were in the finals in 2011, we weren’t Canada’s team and guess who most of the other Canadian team’s fan base were cheering for? BOSTON, NOT the Canucks so don’t expect me to cheer for you when u won’t cheer for me.
