I haven’t listened to it but I’ll say Ken is super upset about his trade deadline went. We should have resigned Marchy, we got worse, the front office sucks. Team ruined. Dark days ahead. Never will win another cup with these guys running the team.

Disclaimer: I haven’t listened to this but I’ve read some of Ken’s tweets and wanted to touch on them

A big point Ken seems to make is: “He’s the franchise leader of x, y, and z, so he has to stay”. I challenge said assertion with the idea that once you start doing that for one person, when does it end? How do you then move off of a player like Karlsson or Theodore should the situation arise when you can make an equal statement about them? Ken is effectively screaming into the void, because he’s a loyalty first guy covering a team whose entire philosophy is that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. In no uncertain terms, his line of reasoning would take us down the path of the Sharks, a team handing out loyalty contracts to every aging player because we absolutely have to keep the band together no matter the cost. Then what? We get to feel all warm and cozy inside when the aging players expectedly regress like all players do but because we were “loyal” it was the right thing to do? No.

Everyone hates Ken, but I don’t think it’s always warranted. His pods are always too rambling for me, but he did a video on YouTube that I thought was concise and to the point.

The only person worse than Ken is his podcast partner Jason. At least Ken has opinions, Jason will regularly express an opinion, Ken will say he’s wrong and he will then change his opinion to agree with Ken. I do think Ken knows the sport well but he is emotional and does not understand the off ice aspects of the game. He is regularly wrong about trades and signings, most notably being his Eichel hate.

I do regularly only listen to the podcast but only when I feel like raging, I constantly am laughing and their bad takes and arguing against their stupidity.

Dudes are just gonna cry and complain about everything like they always do. If you want the most negative and braindead takes, this is your podcast. Jason seems like he doesn’t even watch any vgk games. Just reads headlines and bases his takes off that, dude is an embarrassment to have on a vgk podcast. Ken is alright but he’s just so negative too, won the cup and these dudes still cry 24/7. Just can’t listen anymore

I just listened, and it was horrible. Two hours of straight complaining. No discussion of solutions, potential trades, etc.

Just bemoaning the state of the roster in early July.

EDIT: Oh and Connelly is apparently dicking down everyone in Development camp.

Tl;dr: VGK lost in the first round with a $100m roster, then lost 8 players. Are they still a good team? Yes. Are they a Cup winning team? No.

Ken is a fucking clown! I can’t stand that piece of trash.

He clearly has too much loyalty to players. He hated the Eichel trade because he loved Tuch, and couldn’t see the future of how important of a player Eichel would become ON A STANLEY CUP WINNING TEAM, and now he’s hating Marchessault’s departure because he thinks he was too valuable of a player, not thinking about the eventual decline that will hit Marchessault sooner rather than later, and what handing out “legacy contracts” would do to a team (look at what happened to San Jose, Detroit, & Chicago, and look at what’s going to happen to Pittsburgh).

If Vegas were to have that level of loyalty to their players, no matter what they’ve done/will do for both the team and the players’ own legacies, the Knights would be handcuffed to them beyond when the players’ effectiveness would dry up, and the Knights would have no room to retool and reshuffle the team around to keep it competitive for the Stanley Cup in the long run, and instead would potentially be starring down the barrel of a LOOOOONG rebuild. I would very much like to never endure something like that, as you’ve seen with Detroit in their 8 year of no playoffs, Ottawa and their 7 years of no playoffs, and Buffalo with their 13(!!!) years of no playoffs, those rebuilds can be excruciatingly long, and along the way, a rebuild could fail, and you’d have to start over, causing more pain, and lots of losing.

If Ken was the GM, he would lead us down the same path those franchises went down, so he in this case needs to be dismissed, and we as fans need to trust the management & coaching, that the decisions they’ve made up to this point, which have led to the departure of players we loved & valued, will in turn be the right decisions for the long run, and the VGK will remain a tough contender for the cup for years to come.

This dude seems to be just complaining and dooming like crazy. Unfollowed on X for now.
