This will certainly make their games more entertaining to watch. She is hot.

Far as I’m concerned if she knows what she’s doing I don’t see anything wrong it might actually be good for women in sports

Snowflakes on X are reacting to this as well as you expect. Saw a few people saying they will no longer watch hockey lmao.
I think this is good for the Kraken, shes got some good experience.

But what if she menstruates on some important plays?

As ever it is outrageous that it took this long for it to occur. Shameful. Just to keep in perspective the work still needed to rectify fully.

I saw her at a preseason game and a dev camp, I’m excited to see what she does with Bylsma up here

This is good for hockey as a whole.
I can’t believe it took so long for the PWHL to come along, but my god has it just been amazing and it’s just a gift that keeps on giving now that even the NHL is convinced over how well women can play and know the game.
It’s long overdue and I hope she’s far from the last. The boys club needs a serious shake up and this is a good start.

After watching the development and play of the Firebirds, this is a good move. May have been an even better move to make her head coach in the AHL, but what do I know. Good for her.

Inb4 every team feels obligated to have 1 female coach

Kraken has the first openly gay staffer too (one of the trainers). Proud to rep the team

I’m sure people will be very cool and normal about this. We love Jess, and I’m so excited to have her on our team! She’s been amazing for the Firebirds and I’m excited to see what she can do with our horrible power play 😤🫡🩵

Pretty cool. Important step for hockey and the NHL. It shouldn’t matter that a woman coaches a pro hockey team, if she’s got what it takes, that’s all that matters.

Even though I’m not a fan of PWHL, I love seeing hires like this because there are so many dinosaur coaches that stick around for too long

This is dope! However my cynical side wants to say, “of course it’s Seattle that hires the first woman to coach in the NHL.” lol

This is a step in the right direction. I wish her all the success.

As long as shes the best person for the job then great.

Good for her, well deserved

Imagine nhl players taking direction from someone they could beat 1v1 at the age of 9

As long as she can hang with the bros, and there is still room for locker room talk, it’s fine. But she’s in a room with 40 dudes, so it will change the dynamic a bit.

I’m most surprised this is the first. If you know the game you know the game.

Ok, hear me out. Will players respect her? Like actually? It’s a different thing, being coached by a woman. Just saying. Put yourself in their skates.
ThyResurrected
I don’t care there’s a camel coach.
I honestly just see this going back. Physically fit men, with a pretty women. Eventually one of them end up banging, catching feels. No matter how much you try to fight millions of years of evolution by being “professional” .. nature will win. There will be drama and some form of giant PR nightmare.

She did good with Coachella Valley so good for her.
