Habs fan here, in no way am i comparing the young stars of Montreal of today to the stars of the 2010s of the Bruins, they have not earned that comparison yet, however, this salary situation reminds me of the Bruins glory days of the 2010s with all their team friendly contracts and staying competitive for a long time. I just hope the Habs keep on rising and eventually become one of the top teams of the league in the same vein as the 2010s Bruins, it really is looking like it might be a possibility.

Slav signing is fantastic! $7.6M for a first overall pick for 8 years is great, he's only 20 years old! If the Habs continue on the rise, he could be a 100 point player in a year or two.

Good contract for Montreal with Slavkovsky. It's the same premise as what New Jersey did with Jack Hughes. Statistically he wasn't worth what he got but they banked on potential. They did great.
I don't think slaf will be point per game next year but I think its fair to assume he could reach 70 points if he is healthy for the whole season

Nick Robertson has done nothing to have any leverage in a trade. Keefe didn't utilize him well, but he also hasn't proved much. His recent poor playoff performance is kinda underrated. He had a chance to step up with injuries, and he didn't. Sounds like a PASSION problem.
Perry staying with oilers means they don't get to the finals again, they lose in round 1. Perry only makes it to the final during his 1st year with a new team.😲 Can Mcdavid break the curse? RIP Corey Perry. Good luck!
The Reinhart deal will not age well in Fla. His 57 goals this year was more fluke than anyhing else. They'll be buying him out down the road, imo…

As a habs fan, this rebuild is so exciting to watch, so much good young prospects.
Feels like a hurricane hit the Hurricanes depth during this free agency.
I would have given Slaf a little less, say 6.01-6.49 million a year for 5 years, because if Dach is finally allowed to play and not get smothered by an AHL'er like Jared Tinordi in game 2 of the season, he's not going to be cheap. If Dach is healthy this season, watch out, we just got a taste of his real capacities in 22-23 and the 2 games he played in 23-24 he was everywhere and skating faster than he was in the past, and he's going to cost a lot too…and I'm the kind of guy who GM's on CHEL with mandatory 2 star centres for line 1-2 and often on the same line for PP1. If Dach goes past 65-70 pts this season and his tendency to get injured goes away, he's gonna become expensive too. Just like our huge lineup of up-and-coming future stars on the blue line…and considering how Monty is improving every season, if he's even better this season, he too, will become rather expensive, if say, he goals 50-60 games and has save % at .915 and over.
I'm kind of on the fence with this contract he played good/great in 41 games and the games before that where was he ? I guess only time will tell about this contract
Personally Corey Perry a honing device for landing with teams going to SC Finals. 4 times is remarkable. He won once. He can win again.
