  1. This Canucks management team doesn't mess around. They did good work today. DeBrusk is a tougher goal scorer than the other ones they were rumoured to be after and younger. If he plays with Pettersson he should fill the net, since he's a guy who can score, even in the playoffs. We looted Boston pretty hard in free agency today, also grabbing Forbort (another giant penalty killer on the blueline) and Heinen (solid penalty killer, born in Langley). I'm pretty sure Quinn Hughes is happier having Sherwood on his team than hunting him down in the forecheck for the other team. They also got Jiri Patera from Vegas, but I expect that he'll probably play in Abbotsford, unless our goalie whisperer identified him as a good backup option.

  2. I love the haters who think every player should sign for a deal. Glad Canucks didn't over pay for zadorov and Lindholm. Would have been crippling

  3. These are the moves of a team that just wants to make the playoffs not win a cup. I'll never see this team win ffs.

  4. 73.5% of the fans love the DeBrusk signing? Vancouver Canucks fanbase IQ just took a serious dip. A 7 year deal for a career 40 point player at 5.5 mil. Hoglander had 36 points last season…

  5. Debrusk is a fast, skill with edge that can score tocchet will even up his game more it will be a steal and cheaper then guenztle

  6. They need to do something more. I would argue that the team the day the season ended compared to now:
    Top 6: Worse
    Bottom 6: Better
    Defence: Worse
    Goaltending: Worse

  7. I like the signings the Canucks made today. They picked up some gritty players who play the game with heart and intensity. I daresay spreading the money around like this is better than pushing all the chips in on a player who's only scored 40 goals twice in his career (Guentzel).

  8. I think Zadorov would've been a good signing if they offered him for 6 years. People saying hes a 3rd pairing are out to lunch. He eats up minutes and he matches up with the best players. He's also a monster and keeps the opponents honest when hes on the ice

  9. They made the moves they had to make based on who was available and I like that they are staying away from the cap so they can bring the younger guys up as needed. The reality is that they have cap issues for another 3 years at least, so their hands are tied somewhat. They're going to have to hope that Podz and Hogz step up in a big way until Willander, EP-D and Lekkerimaki are NHL-ready.
