It’s nice to see that he’s playing a lot on 200×85 rinks. Most in the KHL are, and they don’t have any that are the full Olympic size sheets. Hopefully helps his transition to North America a lot.
At around the 1 minute mark there’s a beautiful little sequence where he protects the puck and gets it to the front of the net.

I can’t get enough of these. You get to see him at both ends of the ice. One thing I haven’t seen in any of these, that I can remember, is a breakaway. He doesn’t cheat out of the d zone, he would rather break some ankles to get a shot on net, or find the soft ice in-between 3 poking sticks to fire a shot. He’s also got a mean streak and doesn’t shy away from anything that I’ve seen

Marty is gonna love this kid. When he started coaching and telling us what was important in his mind, he mentioned puck touches. Demidov touches the puck in practically all the sequences, and that is at both ends of the ice. I’m not saying that he is a two-way forward by any means, but the instinct and will show up. It’s gonna be a long year waiting for him but I’m excited.
